Nice  Grin

I think you can max out at like 7 or 8 cards per rig right?

If they were all 2 core cards you would have insane 14gpu rig, would that work?

There are 2 cores are on the same card they would be using the same lane, as I understand the amount of lanes is what restricts the total amount of gpus you can use on one mobo ?

Yes they are 5 cards on five slots! I was wondering if someone used 5 or 6 7990 on one rig or 4 is the maximum?

I once tried 6 x 7990s, but it wouldn't work with more than 8 GPUs in Windows, so i gave up trying Smiley

I'm surprised you can still mine with your 7990s.. all of mine died after 1 year of mining.  7990s are terrible for mining unless you have them water-cooled.

Hmm I'd like to know too. Since they are about 1400 euros used with 2x 1200w psu. I wonder if windows server can run more than 8 gpu?

Hi , if you have one more graphic card to put to see if 9 gpus will work? Put on pcie 1234 and 5 if you have time!
Did you overclock it to get this 310sol/s , which driver do you use! Mine work at 1000/1500 and undervolted to 1.13v. Or may be you gave a better cpu?

I have 2 7990 which ran between 80°C - 90°C with stock fans and now run at 56°C - 75°C with 2 x 140mm yate loon fans zip tied to the card mining Equihash.

The stock fans are useless for mining - I hit over 100°C when the card's airflow was restricted i.e. in a case.

Only way is a higher static pressure and higher airflow solution

stock thermal paste on the 7990 is shit, replace it and the pads and they do fine

I got a powercolor 7990 and tried with 9 gpus , but when windows try to install the driver for the 9th card it crashes in blue screen.
One question , about that 7990 powercolor- it is a bit strange card , gpu-z says the cores are tahiti not malta as the others , and at the same speed as the others 1000/1500 it gives 245sol  on every core and the others give 295sol for a core? What could be the problem?

He used 4x7990 and 2x1070 on a gigabyte Z87X !

The 4X7990 uses 4 PCIE slots with 8 GPU in total. 2x1070 use 2 PCIE slot.

So he only uses 6xPCIE slots.

I tried on a h81 pro btc and it can't boot with more than 6gpu even if they are on 5 slots! So h81 have trouble with this, but the gigabyte z87x works like a charm, the only thing you need to know that you can put only 8 cards from one manufacturer AMD or NVidia.
