for the people who are concerning about the AMD is challenging the Intel, i want to know how you would feel about the price of high end CPUs between Ryzen or i7. Huh if the hype of AMD is true, some of the people holding high end PC with Intel are mad about it.

i will stand for 1700 with overclocking to 3.3 GHz. Grin

out of ability to use the signature, i want a new ban strike policy that will fade the strike after 90~120 days of the ban and not to be traced back, like google | email me for anything urgent, message will possibly not be instantly responded
i am not really active for some reason

Using an Amd processor is affordable and its graphic is so powerful. But I prepared Intel because it design for multi-tasking and the performace is not depends only in the processor also in the memory, grapics card, hard drive or ssd, cooling sytem and monitor to make better performance.

I'll be upgrading my FX-8350 in a couple of months and will most likely buy either the 1700 or 1700X.

AMD have released a great platform with their new Ryzen chips. Sure they are currently having some teething issues, as all new architectures generally do on release, but they've effectively caught up to Intel and sit at a lower price point.

Plenty of people have raised concerns about the current 1700, 1700X and 1800X trailing the 6700K/7700K in gaming performance, mostly Intel fanboys to be honest, but what they either fail or don't want to accept is the current release of Ryzen 7 chips were never targeted to compete directly with these chips; this is what the Ryzen 5 range will be targeting. I can understand some peoples confusion though given the 6700K/7700K are part of the i7 series for which the Ryzen 7 series was named to compare with.

I suspect that in a month or two we'll be seeing Ryzen 7 decrease or eliminate the perceived problem with 1080p gaming that currently has been shown in a lot of benchmarks.

Virtual Servers are the way of the future.  Intel supports virtualization better than AMD.

Which is a totally irrelevant comment to make when discussing a desktop PC.

Why though? AMD is way better for the price. I will definitely be using amd in my next pc build.

definitely better for the price but Intel probably wont keep the current prices, they will likely lower them in response. Now that low but probably low enough that will make people rethink.

AMD Ryzen processors are both great in price and performance, the 1700x being only second after the Intel 6950x with half the price. It is a welcome change after 5 years in where AMD kept nailing new nails in their coffin, now they are back. Low power consumption compared to Intel extreme processors and better performance. We the consumers only want competition which was absent these 5 years from AMD.

I prefer Intel.
Use AMD only for a short period of time in past (about year).

New processors from AMD supposedly have a good performance in office, but not for gaming. I prefer Intel unequivocally.

I did not knew AMD had released a new generation of processors, I will check on that, but are they any good, for a long time if you wanted to have the fastest processor the answer was always the same, go Intel, AMD was good for budget computers.

New AMD Ryzen 1700x is a little below the Intel 6950x so it is great for gaming or heavy graphic computing and rendering. Intel will have to lower its prices if it wants to be competitive. During this month AMD Ryzen line of processors will be available for all of us to try.

I am not much informed about these new CPUs, but according to my so far experience with AMD and Intel, Intel was always one step ahead when comparing with AMD, so I would always choose Intel if my funds are enough for it.

For the last years intel has been always ahead but I think that ryzen may be a pretty good option. It's too early for me, I want to see more benchmarks but in a couple of months I may get an AMD if the performance / price ratio is better than the intel counterpart.
If AMD goes full OpenSource I'll go ryzen even if the performance is lower, we have to support freedom.

hope many will support AMD so that the competition still available and much better if there is some company to rise so that we can have good competition and price its a win-win situation for us consumers.
