I did. I sold 120 coins at $80, I intended to buy 300 at 65 but instead I sold 300 at 65. Tough blow, now I'm coinless. Anyone else done this?

I recommend the classic version of mtgox if you are using mtgox. A lot harder to make such a mistake. classic.mtgox.com

Yea, looks like I might have to push back some timelines. The money is going towards Charities. Right now I'm focused on one called Ozark http://ozarkwaterprojects.org/ My little 4k investment did generate 30k in profit so it's not a total loss. Hopefully by this time next month I'll have enough to fund a few projects in Uganda and Haiti. For now I'm going to set my buy point back at 65 and hope it gets back there soon. I had a dream that we crashed down to $22 lol.

I accidentally placed a sell order instead of a buy, but was fortunate that constant spamming of the Cancel button saved me.

I haven't done that but didn't something maybe dumber. I put in a big buy trade and then tried to transfer the coin to a safe wallet. At the time I was being goxxed for changing a password on an account that was empty before I deposited to it (which is stupid).
Anyway later when I tried again I started over and made another buy talking on the phone instead of trying the transfer. Luckily the price was low so it turned out to be ok but, I felt dumb and angry for not paying full attention to what I was doing.

Yes. I did the exact same thing on Gox. It was late at night or early morning, and I was not fully paying attention. Started my heart pounding when I saw those trades getting accepted and the balances shifting in the wrong way.. luckily things were moving slowly at the time and I just reversed the trade. Lost the commission, but small price to pay for such a stupid mistake. I committed not to try trading without full attention, like I'm driving my car on a hairy mountain road with new snow fall.

I did a variation of "stupid mistake" on BTC-TC: I placed a bid for 1 ASICMINER passthru share @ 6 BTC instead of 6 shares @ 1. I was lucky because the sell order book had asks starting at 1 so I ended up buying only one share at 1 BTC.
Had the sell order book been empty (or at unreasonable prices), and a seller quick enough to match my buy order before I could cancel it, that would probably have been the most expensive ASICMINER share before a long time ;-)

I bought instead of sell one time lol. I waited to a few upticks to leave without any loses from the fees.

This makes me feel better haha, damn mtgox. I also contacted them on why my 5 mystery coins disappeared from an earlier non transaction. They said they were being ddosed and that the order I canceled went through but was reversed. So they took their 5 coin commission and gave me nothing. They don't intend to fix the issue either, I asked for my 5 coins back and they closed out my ticket. Great customer service

Whatever. And no you haven’t been in bitcoin since 2010. Plus if you really feel the way you do. Then sell. Have conviction. If not keep pounding sand.

Happened too many times... I wish there was an option like "wait 1 minute before actually placing the order" when putting orders in.

I am sure you can find a bot which will let you interface the api and issue commands like /buy 100 etc.
