Theres actually a lot of benefits of bitcoin in the gaming industry .. If all online games support bitcoin, that would be great. I heard that Steam community already accepting bitcoins in purchasing points .. I think this will be good as well. And also if twitch.tv will accept or will give bitcoin on their streamers, I think bitcoin will be implement to the people who are not yet tried to use bitcoin.

I'm totally cool with this, as it's one application of bitcoin that makes a lot of sense. Kind of like dark markets. And I know about Steam accepting it, but I don't think it's done much for the price, but who knows. Maybe we'll see bitcoin evolve into something every gamer uses. That'd be nice.
Still, I asked a gaming nerd coworker yesterday whether he'd heard of bitcoin, and he looked at me like like I had 3 heads. We're still in the infancy stage.

Bitcoin is so beneficial in game industry, it can improve the purchasing features so having a BTC as a payment method can help a lot to both user and app owner to have a smooth and fast transaction. Just a few clicks and copy paste and then you are done.

there was tons of benefits for gambling industry using bitcoin as the payment and this article was so interesting indeed with bitcoin the casinos could get the consumers from whole of the world without any trouble because for the casinos more costumers means more chance to get profit and using bitcoin also had low fees for each transactions rather than other currency

I play lol and cs for digibytes, and for now I didn't see any game that have prizes in bitcoin, except in gambling, but here it's talk about gaming. I bought cs from steam and with bitcoins, but how is that connected with real gaming? And how bitcoin can be contribute to online gambling? For now I didn't saw nothing special on this field, or I'm not well informed. Can someone show me which games I can play and earn bitcoins, but not gambling games, real ones. As I know big prizes for e-sports are in other fiat currencies, I didn't hear that some prize was in bitcoins.

i don't remember but with steam introducing bitcoin i didn't see an increase in purchase int heir platform because of that? simply those that were using only debit card are now using bitcoin too blizzard for example should really accept bitcoin for their winning tournement or for internal purchase, the same can be said about gog there was tons of benefits for gambling industry using bitcoin as the payment and this article was so interesting indeed with bitcoin the casinos could get the consumers from whole of the world without any trouble because for the casinos more costumers means more chance to get profit and using bitcoin also had low fees for each transactions rather than other currency
gambling industry is not really gaming, it's another sector, i could agree that bitcoin there is more prominent

I see it as more convenient way to reward players as you just have to send a specific bitcoin amount to their wallet and done, simple.

Correct me if I'm wrong, gaming is the first industry to take advantage of bitcoin as payment scheme. Players just deposit bitcoin in to there account and then they can play instantly. Imagine if you are in the other part of the globe and you just deposit in casino in US or UK or Europe to play how revolutionary is that? All you need is to register an account at any casino, deposit it, then play across borders and caters for players in multiple currencies globally including bitcoin.

that is right, and that is what i said to steam in my email request so that they add bitcoin payment option too. of course they didn't do it right away by that time but eventually they realized this and added their bitcoin payment last year. and i think it helped a lot of us bitcoin gamers to have an awesome way of spending our bitcoin instead of using credit cards.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I am a gamer myself and I would love to see bitcoin payment introduced in my favorite games. But as Always it is not pure p2p bitcoin transaction this article is about. The implemented this 'Bitcoin cashier system' or whatever it is called and it is designed to ensure merchants' compliance with legal regulations. So we will have Know Your Customer amazing policies implemented and of course AML which always goes with it as well.

I think they will be wrong not to allowed Bitcoin, Bitcoin is a borderless currency and will enable them to penetrate more market than using Fiat, the taste for games continue to increase

Didn't Razer launch their own cryptocurrency for micro transactions? I think btc's past and decentralized nature is still impeding its endorsement

Is this really different than a regular token like steam cash in that sense? They might call it cryptocurrency and they may have created one for this purpose, but if it is used only within their platform, it is just the same as any token by any company.

The other beneficial of bitcoin in the gaming industry can add the gamers from all of people around the world, there is chance the game become go internasional costumers because as we know bitcoin is global payment although still there are gamers who doesn't know about bitcoin, the problem of high transaction fees in bitcoin is the problem on bitcoin but right now there is solution be offered by developer and comunity although it is not fix the problem.

In fact most of the players in the emerging has used the gift card or voucher to changing the method to pay over the web. And it's not really useful for all. In case of the steam more people still interest for using the another payment because it can deliver your transaction for instantly. The technical problem of bitcoin still become the big reason to prevent the bitcoin will expand into the other communities.

Bitcoin payouts solve a real problem for merchants facing limited settlement capabilities in some of the most densely populated countries in the world, helping gaming operators to finally reach out to players in underbanked regions and more efficiently serving new customer segments. I really agree with this, I would never buy my first game if it's not because of Bitcoin. Cuz it was kinda hard back then for me to buy a steam gift card here, and some service just taking a lot of fee just for buying it. I play lol and cs for digibytes, and for now I didn't see any game that have prizes in bitcoin, except in gambling, but here it's talk about gaming. Do you mean like earning the Bitcoin by competing in a skill based game? Well in order to do that I think the only think you can do is just wait for e-sports organizers to start accepting Bitcoin as a prize

True but my point is that if they have these "token" system in place, they'll be less likely to accept foreign cryptocurrencies

Bitcoin has made an evolution in the gaming, sports as well in other gambling industry as said by the op, because in the past only very few take part in gambling and that too is considered a risky one. Once after bitcoin came to field the entire scenario got changed opening a big gate for useto participate in gambling with much ease.
