This is a compilation of rituals that I have used to get this MB working.

0) Start out with no overclocking.

1) A tip given out by a poster here and at the ETH forum: To rid the device manager of the Intel 4600 onboard display driver, in the MB bios, select the pcie option as the display card and set the onboard display memory to auto. As the poster explained, the MB detects the pcie display card and shuts down the onboard display with this setting.

2) When having trouble with cards being recognized, another poster mentioned pulling the onboard battery out for 30 mins. If you notice carefully the MB almost appears to be double booting after doing this. You will see the CPU fan go on-off-on.

3) If you have a windows system, under the device manager check display hidden drivers. If there are hidden display drivers, delete them all.

4) I use the 16.9.2 driver.

5) I always install the first 1X riser in the 16X slot. This card is also always the display port hereafter.

6) To load up a MB, to start do steps 1,2,3,5 in that order.

7) Use the "old" fashion technique of powering down the MB and adding one riser at a time. Start up MSI afterburner before starting the mining software.

Cool Resist any urge to shuffle cards after everything is working.

On a hunch, I try to leave about 150W of head room on the power supply. With each GPU riser separately powered from the PS, I avoid using the onboard molex connectors. I am concerned about ground loops.

In my experience if everything is setup correctly, both Claymore and Genoil can mine ETH without crashing. If the system is on the edge GENOIL will be stable and CM will be crash prone.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!
