Sorry but stop trolling. Feather value is technically around 1 ltc/200 ftc right now, but the popularity is high and so the value is probably going to rise with time just like litecoin.

Who determines value? Certainly not you, Value is determined by those willing to buy and sell something. From the looks of it, FC certainly has value.

I'd agree that it certainly has value. However, I'd also say that the value is purely speculatory in nature. The only thing you can buy with it seems to be other cryptocurrency.
While other cryptocurrencies that seem to have value also fall into this same boat, cryptocurrencies intrinsically have value as a transaction record keeping system that grows proportionally to adoption and acceptance. Feathercoin lacks in that last department. Without anything to help it stand out from its fellow competing cryptocurrencies (aside from a rather large amount of initial attention at launch), I can't see it going anywhere fast.

You're out of your mind if you think an altcoin released 2 days ago has that kind of value. Where's the FC exchange? Where's all the shops accepting FC? Where's the value outside of what the miners WISH the value was at? Litecoin rose because it has businesses and services built up that support it, and is about to be traded on the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world. There is 0 value outside of 'perceived' (and i use that word really loosely) value from those with a vested mining interest.

I used to think this way until i realised the price really is determined by what people want to pay for it. If people right now want to pay that much money then that is it's market value by definition. But remember, it's all hype right now, whether the price maintains that value or grows is another matter.

What people pay, and what people want to charge are two very different things. I'm discussing the latter, you seem to be offtrack.

Wow, so many bumps The value is purely speculative at this point. As others have pointed out, it current value is what someone is willing to pay to take a gamble that FC might catch on. Say what you want, but even bitcoin in the early days was pure speculation, and now we all wish we could go back and buy 1000's of btc at 12 cents each. LTC was the same when if first came out, now trading at ~ $2.50. So, I am selling the "lottery ticket" that, perhaps, at some point in the future BTC will be worth substantially more than the entry fee. Also, for interested parties, I am willing to entertain offers in both LTC and BTC.
