Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a new video card, because mine was old and I wanted to get some more hashes for mining. Anywho, I upgraded from a 4850 to a 7770, and since the upgrade, cgminer now crashes my computer the moment I hit q for quit. At first it was giving 0x7f STOP BSODs, but I downgraded the ATI Catalyst Control and the video card driver to 12.10. After the downgrade, the BSODs stopped, but the crashes did not.

cgminer v.: 2.10.4
Video Driver: 9.2
Catalyst: 12.10
OS: Windows 7 SP1

My one concern is that the video card is bad and I have to return it, but hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Thanks! Please let me know if you need any more information.

Are you over clocking it? Download some decent Overclocking software and check the MHz for the Memorary, might be set to high!

Nope. I haven't touched the clocks or voltages at all. It's a fresh card, right out of the box. It crashes *after* I stop mining (i.e. when I hit 'q' to quit). cgminer displays "Thread 0 disabled" and then the computer locks up, and has to be restarted manually. Thanks!

Good question!

Tested it: I can start and stop GUIMiner without any issues. The problem seems to be with cgminer. :S

I have the same issue. For one of four "quit", it hang. No amount of ^C and kill -9 fix it. i have to reboot to get rid of it.
