Let's get into details. New name is because we're focused in Spain. When Pesetacoin was launched every coin used to end in -coin. Times have changed and we want to be prepared for the future spanish adoption.

The mining algorith we're using now is very secure but it doesn't allow the community to contribute and get a reward for it. We're moving to a hybrid PoW+PoS. The first 30,000 blocks will be hybrid and after that full PoS.

Monetary emission policy does not change even if the block time is now 5 minutes. We do consider the monetary emission policy stablished from day 1 a key component that will differentiate us from any other coin the central bank can issue.

The swap will be 1:1, the first may, meaning you will receive 1 Peseta Digital for each Pesetacoin you own. The exchange in charge of the swap is SouthXchange. You will be able to deposit your Pesetacoins there until the 30th april. The 1st may, the user will be credited with Peseta Digital.

We hope you like the changes and we expect them to be helpful to achieve mainstream adoption in Spain.

Southexchange will ban or block somebody if they see a problem, but they are not too strict with kyc https://southxchange.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/36000125939-terms-of-service They are one of the few exchanges where you can trade some older high quality coins like primecoin, namecoin etc. I vaguely remember you from some old coin a few years ago, maybe datacoin.

Swaps are often the kiss of death, and pesetacoin has pretty horendous distribution even for a coin that has been dormant a long time https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ptc/#!rich but it peaked last time at 0.15 usd and it's possible the dev team is serious about making the coin useful, adding something that most coins don't have. Maybe not likely, but possible, hopeful. At the last peak 3000ptc = usd 450 a nice chunk of change.

I decided to stop my node that ran for 5+ yrs and wanted to make someone from here a nice gift. You are right that could be some nice change at some point in the future, but running a node for ev. 1 or 2 more years costs money too and since I can't mine it anymore I made said decision.
I have no critics at all regarding the project, I think it is great and wish you all luck. I am just still running way too many nodes and PTC was among the nodes I decided to shut down upon the swap. Creating an account for currently worth a few usd seemed too much and I'd rather give it to some owner who gives the coins a new good home :-)
