Rx 480 Nitro 8GB - drop h/s - Solution ?

Hi all im rly tired to try fix my problem but meybe someone have this and he find the solution. Problem is:

My rig:








Over 6 moths i mining XMR. Take 4350 h/s witl 695/710 wats at wall.

Crimson 16.6
AMD SKD

All standard settings.

After that i try to chenge for ETH or Zcash and start problem.

When i change for ETH all times the same card make error. When i start miner start normal 29+ and goind down till 0 and system crash after rebot windows msg - watman reset after system failer.
The same with zcash. maximum time miner runing 5/7 mins. when i change mbios key to OC 1340-2000 all works with nice result but ... eth 175 mh/s - 1350 WATS /// Zcash 1900 k/s - 1250 WATS is to much

When i go back to XMR Silent-mod vdrop+ 4350 k/h - 700 WATS all good.

I try to :
change Drivers - no help
reflash rom - no help
copy rom from other my card and flas to this wich make problem - no help
change riser, usb , power cable - no help ?

There is posible card i broken ? when i flash stock rom to her .. she work but result a litle low jak others. but not crush. When instal the same rom wich i have at my other 5 cars .. always problem. Did i should put to warranty ? or what ?

first off those molex connected to the motherboard aren't needed if your using powered risers which by the looks of the pics you are, so you know you can kill your hardware under certain circumstances

try using the original bios.. make a copy of it and tweak that bios.. use HWINFO and see for any GPU memory error.. make sure no memory GPU error.. i got 1 card that cannot use other bios.. had to remake and tweak it until get 0 GPU memory Error. after that all clear.. now already 4day non stop running without any crash..

This is because Monero algo is not so resource hungry, it can run with very high core clock with no issues, but if you put eth or zec, which uses much more power and  heavy loads the gpu core, it crashes. You have to low your gpu speed or you need to up the voltage of this card, to fix the problem! If you take a look at msi afterburner you will notice that every 480 card at the same speed has different core voltage! So up the voltage of the card and you will be good to go!
 As for the power draw, it is the same reason, they are just much more heavy for the gpu and draw more power!

first off those molex connected to the motherboard aren't needed if your using powered risers which by the looks of the pics you are, so you know you can kill your hardware under certain circumstances

Well before i use gigabyte gaming 3 without molex

stock rom - card freez after 5/6 h mining
oc rom - card freez after 1 h

not inaf power Vol at pci-e.


vdrop+ rom - card freez or system crash after 15 min

i change for asrock h81 and all good at xmr. are u sure disconect this molex ?

try using the original bios.. make a copy of it and tweak that bios.. use HWINFO and see for any GPU memory error.. make sure no memory GPU error.. i got 1 card that cannot use other bios.. had to remake and tweak it until get 0 GPU memory Error. after that all clear.. now already 4day non stop running without any crash..

2. Install Crimson 16.6
3. Instal amd skd 3.0
4. Rebot
5. System update drivers and at system no error 41/31 all GPU work ok.
6. Start miner
7. All gpu show 29 mh/s +
9. efry one shares one gpu going down with has
10. after 5 mins  one gpu show 4.50 mh/s - turn off at miner
11. leave for night for mining ETH.
12. Today morning - After 7 h mining ETH at 5x480 (1-off) all works 147 mh/s with 800 wats at wall

the sam card make problem. Try reflash for stock oryginal and i make test - result put here when finish

Well i dont use msi or strixx but wull try. But how u explain this if i switch off card all works fine ? All cards have the same rom .. all cards was flash the same method and platform and time ;/ ... I understound if all card crash .. but why just one ?

When i change klick bios for OC + (1344-200 i thing dont remeber) rebot and start miner .. zcash show nice result 305 kh/s but after 15 min i se in Monitor bad display some like bad pixel when i open a folder was lots of shit arround window.. like crash but all works .. mining no freez just display some shit.

try this step :
1st - make a copy of your original bios.
2nd - modified the bios of the problems card.
           - use 1625 memory strap to 17++ and 2+++
           - clock
          Clock Speed         mV
               P3 950           820
               P4 980           950
               P5 1030         1000
               P6 1070         1025
               P7 1120         1050

Memory :
P1 2030   950mV

then try running the card alone. install HWINFO software. monitor for the GPU Memory Loss. make sure its zero..

if seeing zero.. use watttool and try adjusting the P1 memory by +/- 10 and 10 but leave the mV.
when you get the optimum memory setting by using watttool.. reedit the bios and reflashing it back..

wel i cahgne all 6 card from silent ( after flash mod bios vdrop+.rom ) to OC

Start zcash mining after 3 h all card work 300++ h/s per card. but 1250 wats at wall

So card isnt broken if work a difrent bios.

when i get back to mod bios problem back aswell.. so i thing card is ok .. proble is with the bios but how i all other card have the same bios ;/

try this step :

           - use 1625 memory strap to 17++ and 2+++

               P3 950           820
               P4 980           950
               P5 1030         1000
               P6 1070         1025
               P7 1120         1050

Memory :
P1 2030   950mV

Card crash when start wat tol .. when not crash system show problem with driver..

I just instal stock rom and run 1 gpu - stock 5 gpu - vdrop+ .. 170 mh/s and 920 wats at wall .. so sad but .. i thing i sned card to warranty just make sure all bios are flash oryginal . what u thing ?

stock bios - silent / working test 19 h
stock bios - OC / working test 14 h

when i flash vdrop+ crash . i have 6 the same cards with the same ram details etc . why 5 card work at vdrop+ one crash ? i cant understound ..;/
