But spending BTC is going to be much easier than Gold. What do you do with a 1 oz coin if you want to spend 75 dollars on something? Gold is very inconvenient unless you deal in large amount transactions at once. I fully believe that in the next few years we will see things bought and sold for a few satoshi's. That is where BTC is so much better in the long run. Plus, you can steal Gold much easier than BTC if the holder knows what he/she is doing.
That's what goldbugs don't get. Gold is absolutely useless in the digital era. Who the hell wants to hold some stupid gold coins in 2017? I mean what is the point in any case? We live in a globalized world, a global economy, the internet is the biggest business, you can't think in local terms anymore, and bitcoin is the best way to make payments across the planet. Gold is only useful if you live in an isolated village with no internet and out of the civilization or something.
Gold might be useless in the digital era but it's been around way longer than Bitcoin has. I'm sure Gold will be around for a very long time. There are still tons of miners out there mining for gold. Who knows how much Gold there is to find.
Unlike with bitcoin, there's only a certain amount of Bitcoins to mine.
