Great, if this continues maybe gold holders will start turning into Bitcoin holders. This is a milestone for bitcoin!
Also, we have established a new ATH and with some luck we won't have a large correction.

We are people who are making bitcoin and it's history. We are one of first. Retail interest in precious metals declined, especially on the backdrop of the government pressure in East Asia. The use of Bitcoin by the Chinese is growing rapidly. I believe that we are experiencing a demographic shift from gold to Bitcoin as the main alternative investment.

Most people buy gold, because they want to diversify and as a safe haven/ for security. Basically keeping their wealth. Bitcoin is a more riskier thing and it is more of an investment. So they are different. Both have in common, that they are not to easy to buy, but for the average person it will be even harder to get Bitcoin. This could change a bit with the ETF, but you are not holding Bitcoin buying the ETF. But some people also don't buy gold directly, so we will see i guess. |

But spending BTC is going to be much easier than Gold. What do you do with a 1 oz coin if you want to spend 75 dollars on something? Gold is very inconvenient unless you deal in large amount transactions at once. I fully believe that in the next few years we will see things bought and sold for a few satoshi's. That is where BTC is so much better in the long run. Plus, you can steal Gold much easier than BTC if the holder knows what he/she is doing.

Yes that is true. Bitcoin officially surpasses the price of the Gold and i'm sure that is just the start of the price in moving up because that news can be a rocket fuel for our rocket(Bitcoin) to move up to the sky and go to the moon. Keep spreading positive things in bitcoin then just after a few weeks, we will reach 2000$. |

Let us be cautious here. I do not want to be anti-climatic but this might become a bubble if SEC disapprove ETF. The current price surge is because of the incoming event. If ETF is rejected then possibly we will make another history such as the bubble burst of 2013. |

Come on, dont you know that bitcoin hit the price of almost $1900 in the past which is really still the bitcoin's record. Saying that, bitcoin really overpassed the price of gold a long time ago. And it did again, but bitcoin still not breaking his own record.

Comparing the price of one Bitcoin to the price of a certain mass of gold is pointless, so total bullshit. The only comparison for "parity" that makes any sense is total market cap of both commodities.
Total estimated gold ever mined: 171,300,000 kg
1 kg of gold = $39,847
Market cap: $6,825,791m
Total bitcoins ever mined: 16,193,587
1 btc = $1,249
Market cap: $20,230m
You should postpone the 'parity party' until 1 BTC = $421,512, or when it's value equals the value of ~10.6 kg of gold.

Finally bitcoin making a history, but I don't know whether it will be stable at that price or it is going to fall down again, but I still happy to see bitcoin's price is as good as gold's price, hopefully with this good news it will bring more investor to invest in bitcoin and more shop will be interested to adopt bitcoin

yes this is very exciting. and it will start getting a lot more exciting when the news hits the media and it is filled with it, and that is the time when we start seeing some more real action on the market when the new investment comes in and the new money injected into the market increases the price in another big rally just after this one. |
