Hi!

I want to get rid of one of this:

http://share.pho.to/AdGdm

Does that have some more value then the 25 Bitcoins?

I'm ready to sell, if anyone is interested here.

Thanks!

Nice coin.  Make sure you are offering escrow for this otherwise you wont get any hits.  Small market for these particular coins but at the right price it should go

Thanks for answers!
The premium on a 25 has historically been low, even when BTC was in the $200's.  There's just not a big premium on the 25's and 5's, you'll pay proportionally much higher for the .5 and 1 BTC coins, and exponentially higher for the 0.1 silver.  The problem is that there's not too many people who can pop off purchase of a 25 today.  Back when they were introduced, yeah, many could afford them at the time.  Now with BTC where it is, very few would be willing to part with that much fiat to buy one, and anyone who has that much in BTC is not willing to part with that much of a premium.

Also, premiums are usually calculated in BTC, not tied to fiat or PM's, so a 0.5 BTC premium today will still be a 0.5 BTC premium tomorrow.  The only thing is what BTC is comparable to at that time.  So, it will be a very long time before that premium could be turned around to buy you 100g of gold, but either way it's still a 0.5 BTC premium.

If you want to sell it for the premiums mentioned, PM me.  It's worth that premium to keep someone from peeling it, but not much beyond that unfortunately.

Why do you want to get rid of it?

Are you in desperate need of $31,000+ in cash? If so, just redeem it.

If an additional $5,000-$7,500 would be helpful you should try to sell the coin, loaded, to a collector. This forum is a good place to find that investor but you'll need to do some real searching to find a buyer. You can't just post a picture and say - what will you give me for this?

Today it's worth $31,750 without a premium and without a buyer!

The last 2 sold went for much less... 26.5 and 27 (Bitcoin was sub $700 at the time). I have not seen one of these sell for over 27 since 2013/2014.

Yes, besides throwing away money he would also be destroying a piece of Bitcoin's history.  Sell it, don't peel it.

The rarest is the 1000 BTC 1oz gold round.  My personal favorite is the all silver 10 BTC coin, but as far as rarity goes, a good place to start might be the all silver 0.1 or 0.5 coins, or perhaps the 2011 S2 coin without the hologram error.

Thanks, yeah can't afford (or probably find) the 1000btc, but the 25btc and down is doable.

Thats a decent offer by Blazed if you just need to cash out without destroying the coins numismatic value... $1,200 premium currently

Its tough to find collectors ( like they were saying) that can afford coins in this range. I have a decent stash now and I'm hoping in 3 to 5 years the numismatic value will catch on with investors and boooom out pace the BTC value. Right now its a bitcoin enthusiast market but eventually coin collectors will start coming out of the wood work.. imo

good luck !  Its history Smiley

Well, I assumed the pictures in OP were his, but they are not. Obviously my offer requires pictures of both sides of the coin etc...I am also only interested if it is series 1 like the pictures....

It would be worth the offer especially if it looks like the one in the picture, beautiful and all shiny looks brand new.

Let's wait and see if the OP puts some pics with his username displayed first before anyone gets their hopes up.

That's counterintuitive brother. You want to sell stored BTC for BTC that could get hung up in the network? squirrel that bitch away for a few years and be merry.

Why would he redeem it when he can easily sell it to me? Anyways, I need pictures to check out the condition of the coin etc...

Agreed, at least sell it to Blazed!

Yes, besides throwing away money he would also be destroying a piece of Bitcoin's history.  Sell it, don't peel it.

Destroying a piece of history, definitely. Making the remaining coins many of us own slightly more rare, definitely. And the latter impacts me slightly more than the former.

It's amazing how a 1BTC coin commands, literally commands, a 2x and higher asking pricing.

To the OP (troll?) I'm happy to offer free escrow! Give me a chance to earn some trust! (Blazed and OG, keep your disdain to yourself! Hahaha)

Yeah, I know, I know. I've been inquiring on other forum boards to handle significantly smaller transactions...no takers yet.

You haven't even completed a successful trade/sale and have ZERO trust rating.....  I would sooner give my money to Quickseller  the devil.... Tongue

Technically, you don't know that to be true. You only know that I any trades I've handled haven't been document through the Forum's trust ratings. More to the point though...it was mostly a joke, so...

I not sure why the OP hasn't posted any pics yet?

The thread was created just about 2 days ago, right?

OP, if you legitimately own this coin, it would be in your best interest to post a pic as soon as possible before any more doubt is cast upon your shadow.

As far as escrowing for a coin of this value, I would think it would be for both the buyer and seller's best interest to use a long standing trusted escrow.

thanks!

Well I'm dr. spock I'm here to rock y'all

No.
I think a drop of water/liquid has gotten there and that's the reason one letter is a bit worn-out.
Little trace of the same ink is visible on the plastic package the coin is in.

I have one of these too that I'd be willing to sell. But it's in much worse shape than this one. I tried selling it on OB, but no takers. The one in this thread looks like a gem. Anyhow, people with more than 25 bitcoins are hard to come by. I may end up defunding mine.

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

That is true if you're selling to someone whose thinking is anchored in fiat, which is those with a low accumulation of bitcoin.

A lot of people in the community have significant stashes of bitcoin. Someone with more than BTC30 (and many have 100s or 1000s of btc) could easily be considered a real collector and accept the premium due to each if these coins.

So -- based on the pictures -- does Your offer stay (26.5 BTC)?

Well I was going to lower it a bit because of the smudged first bits, but I'll keep it at 26.5 BTC if that includes postage or delivery and any escrow costs, normally sellers are happy to send first and trust my rep (see sig), but totally up to you.

PM with my contact details sent.
