I have been trying to open a bitcoin wallet for 5 days and have never been so frustrated in my life. I am new to all of this and have been meaning to do this for quite some time. Coinbase will not let me verify my ID. It just keeps saying my session has timed out for four days now, ipayyou will not accept my ID, that's been going on for a three days and any other wallet Campbx wants a money order snailmailed to Georgia.I don't understand how to get funds into the wallet. I want to connect my bitcoin wallet to a bank account or credit card. All I ever hear is it takes just a few minutes. I've been at it for DAYS

Did Coinbase give you any reason why they did not want to verify your ID? I had to give a lot more information for them to validate me as part

of the AML/KYC regulation requirements. Did you provide them with all the documents or only your ID? I am "verified" with several exchanges

and I did not have any problems with them.  Grin

Neither of those services are bitcoin wallets, they are equivalent to banks, and thy contro the private keys.
A wallet is a program like Bitcoin Core, Electrum or Mycelium, that generated key-pairs and uses them to keep bitcoins.
To store bitcoins, I would suggest using Electrum or Mycelium in combination with paper wallets in the following manner:
Use the paper wallets to receive coins, until the wallet hits a certain amount (50 or 100 mBTC), than switch to a new paper wallet to receive coins.
To spend coins, use your desktop or mobile wallet, and sweep a paper wallet when funds are insufficient.
This way, you never have most of your coins on the hot wallet.
I have posted instructions for paper wallet generations:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1559277.msg17075677#msg17075677

In your post, you mention linking your wallet to your credit card, I can't tell you much there due to my lack of knowledge, but it sounds like giving up control of the private keys.
If you don't have sole and complete control over the private keys, you don't have any bitcoin!

If you want to buy bitcoins, make and account at an exchange, buy them, and immediately move them to paper wallets.
If you can't make an account at an exchange, you can buy coins from a street seller.

If you want help creating an account at an exchange, I can't help you with that.

If you don't have sole and complete control over the private keys, you don't have any bitcoin!  Signature campaigns are OK, zero tolorance for spam!

Open a wallet is very easy (you can use Mycelium, paper wallets...) the difficulty is buy Bitcoins.

Try XAPO (is online wallet too and you can use it to buy bitcoins using bank transefer, Neteller...).
It's difficult nowadays buy a bitcoin but I think you will not have all these problems with xapo.com   Wink

Note:  Xapo will have the control of you bitcoins (similar to a traditional bank), if you think this is a problem you can transfer your bitcoins from Xapo to any other wallet.

Create a true wallet first.

I suggest you the one here www.electrum.org

Buy bitcoins with your credit card from https://www.coinmama.com/

When asked for the bitcoin address where to receive funds, put one you get from your electrum wallet.

P.S: Don't forget as a top priority to read all about Electrum documentation here https://electrum.org/#documentation

End of frustration. Bitcoin is created to make our life easier and not to frustrate us Smiley . Be patient is a key requirement when dealing with it.
You will always get all the help you need in this forum.

Coinbase is not the best option for storing Bitcoin. It is only good to store Bitcoins for short time especially for a deal and then forward the coins to a wallet which is installed locally or to a paper wallet (also called cold wallet). Otherwise, it could happen something as you faced that the service has some problems or keeps you away from login and you are not able to access again.

Use other exchange, there are so many of them you will get faster and easier somewhere else.
I mean, don't wait that much, just change room Wink

This post is off topic in this thread, and your explanation is not nearly detailed enough for anyone to help you.
Please create a new thread for your question, and explain in more detail what the problem is.
