Most of the time, you can just tell.
Always check the forums for scam reports.
Google "[website] scam" and see what pops up.
+1 I make also legal checks of a site: Online gambling scams

I wonder how you do your research if a gambling site is scam or not?
I've also wondered if gambling sites scam customers. I try to check message boards to see if a site has any record of bad customer service or if it has been accused of scams. It's also not a good idea to put a lot of money on gambling sites.

It's very easy and simple to do. Just google everything out and enter the name of site and you can review the experiences and reviews of people from them.
And of course as a gambler, don't just do gambling alone. Use your mind for the new sites and unpopular ones.
Always see proof of withdrawals.

Though I agree with you in one point, but I can never tell it if the gambling site is brand new. Usually they are the ones who has a lot of victim compared to gambling sites that are already established. But in one point, those established one are sometimes are hiding something too, unless you observe it by your self. There are gambling sites that looks good, but look at what other players are telling. Reviews sometimes are misleading, some are just maliciously create a review either in favor of the gambling site or against it, depending on the reason. A competitor could hire someone to make a bad review and the owner could hire someone to make a nice review.

Just checking if there are scam accusations is not fool proof, especially when we talk about gambling sites, since there will be a lot of players that will lose all their money and then accuse the casino of rigging the games when they may just got unlucky.

But on a forum it will not be possible. In this forum, we have rank system as well as trust scores. I really do not bother about reviews written on some blogs or gambling related ranking sites. Because they could be done by a paid writer similarly I do ignore reviews posted by newbie people on this forum too. But we can trust views and accusation from established members (still need to check on ownership changes). I guess on this forum we have all the tools to verify reviews given by anyone. I wonder how perfectly bitcointalk is coded to safeguard us.

When websites give you more bonus into your account and then allows you to use it only when you make big amount of betting, never go for it. Gambling websites with legitimacy can be seen in our forum. It's good to use those websites than trying to find new ones.

Some fake user will create fake reviews fellow gambling site owners do this to keep the players keep playing in the site While I would avoid new sites that do not have a reputation

I definitely agree, this forum is very helpful to us to provide an updated information by the help of members here to deliver information base on their experience and what they know from other's experience. I guess it is easy now to determine if a site is planning to scam or already a scam site, by this kind of fast information, awareness will be easy to all of us, therefore casinos are really taking care of their reputation as they do not want to loss clients.

Do a research before playing on that site. Also if you dont want to get scammed just play on a reputable site. Dont do deposit on a site that seems suspicious for you.

You can not mark a new site will scam , some popular sites at the beginning build their own reputation from zero too. So it is clearly not a good parameter to determine about how they can scam or not for me.

I'm checking the gambling section and as well as the Scam accusations board. And if it is insufficient and I can't see the specific gambling site that I've been looking. I just google it out so that reviews will pop out and anything related to that site will come out. But still there are some that's hard to make background check if they are real or not.

Here's few more tips (aside from the above answers):
1. Check for expiry of the domain (check for SSL expiry as well, in cases of these two being different in terms of either the start date or end date, it could be one red flag) 2. Sufficient information about the owner and brand (valid name, address and contact number of the owner or the respective brand), mostly hidden by some privacy protecting service. 3. No proof of funds. 4. "To good to be true" stuff. 5. A lot of wrong spellings. 6. Not having 24/7 support (an actual one). 7. Contact a reputable coder to check the source codes that can be seen and to check the software being used. 8. Check for license 9. Check rules/f.a.q and try to cross check everything that sounds different 10. The site, isn't presented in a professional way.
Although these might not be everything and just because some of these are present in a gambling website, doesn't make them automatically a scam but these should be warning points upon using such websites.
With all this listed here, its going to be a real work in other to verify and even complete this checklist up here. But I feel a scam site will have one thing that is being missed and this will serve as a red flag for any one who is sensitive to it. The only sure way to me is the community and even the scam section of the forum. With those two put together, a scam site might not go unnoticed. Aside that, why will I even bother myself about scam sites when there are numerous ones to play on without any issue.

From my gambling experiences i never played a gambling site that turn out to be a scam. I often play to a gambling site promoted on this forum when they have giveaway. But imo to determine if a gambling site is a scam or not is obviously its website link, if its domain is a free/cheap domain or not. And the design of the site looks awful. From that way you would easily suspect that site for being a scam. If a person really wants people to gamble on his site then he would male it attractive to people and invest a lot of money from it.

I always check the reviews or feedbacks of users on a certain websites. A site should be secured and private. There are ways for you to you know identifying if a gambling site is a scam or not. There are monitoring sites that can provide you if the site is fake or legit.

I would say check users review here in the forum or polls etc. If many users like the site, and had good experiences, and the site exists for a decent amount of time, it should be safe I guess.

I am just checking it on google (sites with feedbacks about the gambling site) and here in forum. If you see that users encountered lots of problem and the owner didn't even say a word to fix it, you better avoid the site. I usually visit those with faucet so that I am not required to deposit btc first. Checking the FAQ and TOS is a big help too. There might be a suspicious terms that may help you find out. Sometimes they claim in their FAQ that you can withdraw even you won using the free money but in the end they won't let you. Basically, there is a higher chance that they will scam users if they can't keep what they promise.

All the details had already been said by SFR10, and I am not a fan of reviews especially when the reviewer were hired by the competitor to give negative review to the site. Though the being professional appearance is somehow debatable. But I would rather look for the licenses of the games and script used by the site.
