I am having trouble getting the Controller to update my miner after updating the configuration in the controller. Any tips or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Easiest/simplest is to reimage the micro SD card per https://canaan.io/question/how-do-i-connect-an-avalonminer-721-and-avalonminer-controller-including-raspberry-pi-1-2-and-3/ and re-enter your network/pool configuration.

Assuming you have the Avalon controller use the RasPi 3 image they link to.
