I have the same issue macOS Sierra 10.12.3
Electrum is extremely slow. Anything i click needs from 2-15sec to respond, and also it is synchronising for a long long time...
I am not behind firewall...
Any ideas?
EDIT: I am using 2.8.1 ver of Electrum
It is possible that electrum is just in the process of synching. This can take some time initially in order to fully sync. During this process, it is possible that the CPU usage of your machine is maxing out which could cause the slow to respond clicks. I recommend checking the Activity Monitor to verify if this is the case. If you leave Electrum running for a while it should be able to fully sync which I believe would resolve these issues.
