Yes it was stupid to send them money. I already got it back fortunately.
I asked PayPal if they are a partner but they said they can not give out any information.

Now at least I want to warn others.

The fact that they want the payment be done by "sending money to family or friends" should have set off all alarm bells.

I'm now working on getting the registrar to cancel their domain name.

How did you get your money back from PayPal? The website tells me "We're sorry, but this transaction cannot be disputed because it is not a purchase of goods or services. Please contact the recipient directly."

Did you call PayPal? (I have to wait until they're open)

Only sent them $100 bucks, but clearly I should've done more research. Their website didn't really set off any alarm bells for me. But the last time I bought bitcoin (years ago) I had to take cash to the local drug store and get a moneygram type deal. I had hoped it had gotten easier, but I guess not.

I went to  PayPal and to "report a problem" then selected this transaction and chose "Unauthorized transaction". I had to change my password after selecting this option.

It took less than 24 hours and the money was back on my account.

Hey I also got scammed by this bozo, I opened up a "unauthorized charge" dispute this morning, did you have to follow up with a paypal phone call to expedite refund? Thanks

They are now operating as:
ULTRABTC.COM

People find the scam site from the listed wiki:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/How_To_Buy_Bitcoins_With_Your_Credit_Card

New wiki account created, and then modify the list to keep the scammer at the top each time.

They already closed ultrabtc.com

They are now operating as:
bit-crypt.com

As before, the scam site is also at the top of the list on this wiki:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/How_To_Buy_Bitcoins_With_Your_Credit_Card

Update: I contacted the wiki operators and they removed the link from the list.

Update: the entire page on the wiki (link above) was removed:
