Of course everyone comes here to hate on the DOGE. However, right now most altcoins have no purpose at all other than to create a pyra...*cough* "build a community". It's too bad there is no dev. If the old one passed the reins I'm sure there would be lots of interested folks who could make this coin thrive again.

What is your rationale behind this claim? I like Doge and it is steady coin but $1 by December don’t seem to be realistic. Even if there are some breaking news, it is still not possible.

As much as I like good 'ol doge, I'm realistic and realize that this is
never gonna happen.  Too much supply, which is this coin's
downfall and always has been.  One good thing about a price that's
chronically stuck at 25 satoshis is that it makes it useful as a form
of money.  It's stable and good to use to buy crap with.   If only
more merchants accepted it I'd be happy to spend it.

Doge has several advantages over bitcoin, but it doesn't have the
user base, and that's important in crypto.

It won't happen. I myself don't like the founder Jackson Palmer. He abandoned his baby DOGE instead of selling it to an Australian investor for $500.000 back in 2014. It's a shame. Dogecoin community was one of the best ever.

wow dogecoin... brings back good memories of when i first got into the crypto world. I ended up getting about 145 000 coins. But then ended up losing the password to my wallet. It was doing quiet well the other day before the bitcoin crash.

Anyways i doubt this would ever reach $1 but dam if it did i would be sorry.

There are many reasons why DOGE is unlikely to rally to 50 cents or more as the optimists are promoting.

1. Excessive competition - there are too many other coins for tipping Reddcoin, Feathercoin, RiptoBux (Waves platform), LiteDoge, etc

2. Lack of a use case - BTC is reserve asset and store of value, ETH is currency for ICOs, LTC is used for transactions and is testnet for BTC development, XMR offers privacy features, What unique use case is met by Dogecoin?

3. Inflationary monetary policy - There is no limit to the number of shares of Dogecoin that are generated, which means DOGE can't be considered a rare and scarce asset unlike BTC and DASH.

How its possible? Doge coin is very low growth coin now this coin value $0.001104 in coinmarketcap.So not possible Doge coin will be hit 1$ in December 2017.

I think doge marketcap is still quite large in every exchange. the possibility of rising prices for doge in the market is still wide open. but to reach the price of 1 $ for each coin will be very difficult to happen. even in the next few years though. the current doge price of only $ 0.001 needs to go 100 fold to reach $1 and that's impossible to happen in december
