Lets say if i wanted to get a new desktop for the purpose of mining + gaming

Mining hardware i am getting most probably : AMD RX 480 8GB x 2
As building from scratch, i might also use it for gaming purpose
What i should consider prioritizing when building the new desktop?

As most likely i will be getting something like

  • Processor : Not really sure (Perhaps I5 as the ghz would be okay to go)
  • Ram : 8GB is sufficient i guess
  • Graphic : As mentioned above, i guess the gpu itself can handle on it
  • Storage : SSHD 1Tera, as i need to store my files too

And how much approximately i will be spending to built the entire mining setup? Budget : Rm4000 / $1000 +-

1) Other than mining, i will use it for video editing and gaming, what hardware should i be prioritizing?

2) Other than AMD RX 480 8GB x2, is there any better cost efficient hardware which provides more hash power per kwh?

3) My country is based in malaysia, can you specify all the hardware rigs component by component for me? Thanks (If you have time)

4) Is there anything i still need to be consider while building this?
Whoever mines the block which ends up containing your transaction will get its fee.

all my answers is base that you plan crossfire whit your 2 rx 480

1- for gaming GPU first, then CPU.

2- cost efficient, well depend of what you mine, radeon are mostly ethash mining. Personnaly i find a 1070 best for a mining-gaming rig (event a 1060 6gb is pretty good-all around)

3- sry dont know what market is at malaysia, but i can say you, a i5-6500, a board whit crossfire try aim for know manufacturer (msi, asus), for PSU aim for a gold (bronze is still ok if not budget). use a small SSD around 240gig and a big normal one (better cost effective), if you can 8gig is good but aim for 16gig.

4- need lot more info, like aim algo, crossfire? single gpu mining 24/7? budget? custom bios or default bios gpu? mining for profit or paid cost of hardware?

I would not suggest you to get a new computer for the sake of mining. It doesn’t worth it now, it will not worth it anytime soon. For gaming I definitely suggest alienware, their laptops are as good as most desktops, and their desktops are unheard of good. If you end up having an alienware tough, don’t even think about using it for mining, useless income for making the computers life shorter.
