Doesn't this sort of defeat the whole purpose of moving away from the banking system? Anyway I think you'd have to convert to a normal debit account via xfer through an exchange. There might be apps to send money via qr or NFC mechanism though

okpay is a joke. bitcoin is gr8 but we need to get the money out in cash occasionally to pay bills. i cant pay my rent or buy a hamburger with bitcoins , at least not yet.

Because paypal charges can be reversed, bitcoin cannot.

The problem with debit cards is they're just an authentication card with no money in them. They require a central authority in control of the money to process the requests. A bitcoin "debit card" would be a small device with a tiny display allowing you to confirm or deny potential transactions. This way you remain in control of the money.
