An online gambler won 160 BTC in a single spin in likely the largest ever single jackpot claim in Bitcoin history.

The player, who went on to walk away with Bitcoin equivalent to $255,000 at current prices, struck lucky at Troll Hunters, hosted by Bitcoin casino Cloudbet.

The casino announced the “milestone” win in a dedicated press release on Friday.

“For us, this signifies a new era in the relentless growth of Bitcoin gambling,” Cloudbet Head of Operations Leandro Rossi commented.

That is amazing, it is the dream of every gambler to hit the jackpot. I wonder what was the initial investment he did to bet in order to win the jackpot, anyone knows how much he lost before winning and so on?

By reading the article it was mentioned that the user started with a 0.16btc bet  he might have a bankroll ranging from 5-10btc since he's betting that big right away on his first bet. I want to know how long did it take for him to hit the jackpot it doesn't say in the article though.

There are many other bigger winnings in the history of bitcoin gambling, but still it is a great winning with the recent bitcoin price. The player was so lucky to win 160btc in a single spin. But as the winning is on cloudbet, we should wait for the comfirmation from cloudbet and of course they should prove that they do pay the winning. Otherwise, the winning can be just a fake winning for an advertising purpose.

Yep the important information is to know how much money he wasted until he hit the jackpot to really calculate the net profits, and then we are going to see if it's was worth it, maybe he is some rich crazy gambler and wasted more than $250,000 gambling.

This statement in the article made me laugh:
Quote
The unnamed player started out the session with an opening bet of just 0.16 BTC ($188), the win representing roughly a 136,000 percent profit.

An opening bet of just 0.16 BTC is not really small, but it's interesting that they used the phrase 'opening bet'. That should mean that he'd just spent 0.16 in total?

this really a lucky one, huge amount of money that he can use to start a good business and live as happily as he wants, better to stay away with gambling and use the money wisely, like the other mate said its everyone's dream to hit a one time big time jackpot. congrats to whoever he is.

If this is legit then I think this is really huge. I just don't know if the timing of the press release is just a coincidence in connection with the SEC decision on ETF.

“[Bitcoin is] faster, easier and more secure so big winners can get paid instantly. This attracts players, offering more liquidity and enabling higher limits than many fiat operators. We welcome high rollers so we’re delighted to see this happen and would love to see the record beaten again.”

Maybe the bitcoin gambling community is showing that bitcoin is better that fiat. We all know that we have transaction backlogs nowadays and saying that the payment is easier is not true. This is just my speculation.

This is so lucky man, 160 BTC it's an awesome profit from gambling. I didn't hear anyone that win this high amount by gambling in a single jackpot.
I really want some luck to get a big profit like that. He can start doing a lot of thing with 255,000$, Casino sites, some profit projects .. etc. Or maybe, it's a good idea when he save a part of them.
Anyways congrats to him, And good luck for us.

Im sure the winner browsers this forum. Everyone that gambles in the bitcoin scene knows bitcointalk and looks at gambling subforum to check good deals. Maybe it is an exception and it's some random guy that has 0 accounts in any bitcoin forum and knows nothing about bitcoin, who knows.

I read about this, it is a huge win and although they say he had an opening bet of 0.16 there might have been tons of bets after for much higher amounts, who knows and it doesn't matter anyway this is a nice win and will draw a lot of traffic Cloudbets way.

That story is pretty cool if it's real and not just a made up story by Cloudbet.com.

Getting about 136,000 percent profit is a good payday for someone who only spent 0.16 BTC, though it kind of makes me think why would anyone spend that much money on a Gambling spin. The guy must be rich enough to spend that type of money online I guess. Most people on this forum only spend about n average of 0.000005 BTC on Dice spins on a website on a good day.

Cool stuff though.

Who bets 0,16 BTC = $188 with one slot bet? Like the faked $250 slot bet at satoshidice? Satoshidice scam, 500+ Bitcoins defrauded and disappeared!

Quote
Cloudbet declined to return a request by Cointelegraph for further comment.

And of course no progressive jackpot, so that the software provider is not involved. What is the Bitcoin transfer number?

This marketing show was required after I discovered that they false and misleading claim to have a non-existent license!

If this is a real story, I hope that guy takes that bitcoin and sells it rather than continuing to play virtual casinos or whatever it is. His story of hitting the Jackpot is awesome, but I could see it turning into a tragedy if he continues playing those games.

If this is for real why they don't want to disclose the name of the player so that we can congratulate him. Well I can see that this is a type of marketing and maybe cloudbet did paid cointelegraph for making this article. I read the article and it is really lack of information and proof for me to believe. If this is real, then congrats to the "milestone" of cloud bet.

Well that is definitely not the biggest win in bitcoin terms, pretty sure that a guy has won like 250 BTC on Betking in a single bet before. The only 'milestone' set here is the fiat terms which mean nothing. If you want to measure gambling volume in fiat terms, then you can just go to any big casino and every week there will be whales betting more than $1 million dollars.

And the legitimacy of the claim... I am not sure either because cloudbet doesn't have the best reputation out of all sportsbook companies. But unless we can prove otherwise there is really nothing we can do about it, since they declined to comment.
