Now that Bitcoin has hit Gold parity, and surpassed it to a new all time high. Whats the next stop, parity with the NASDAQ? Who knows, but it sure is a fun ride...

I recently wrote a blog post about this topic trying to encourage my friends, colleagues and fellow entrepreneurs that are still on the side lines, to get in the BTC game!

You know what happens after a commodity rapidly soars in price?

Bitcoin hasn't hit gold parity by market capitalisation. Hit has just hit a pyschological price per unit comparison. Perhaps consider market capitlisation of total mined bitcoins and total mined silver as the next step.

Or just aim high and try to compare it with derivatives.

Great point! Good to have a long term strategy with BTC.

You'll need one. Plenty of time to think about it whilst your waiting for your transaction confirmation.  Tongue

We certainly do but bitcoin is so good that after every massive rise in price it dips again to allow the average guy to buy in at lower prices, how generous.   Wink

Agreed! That will take more time and greater adoption! I think bitcoin is a great store of value and I'm enjoying the price per unit comparison. Someday we may be able to compare the market capitalization of Bitcoin & Gold, but as you pointed out, were not there yet...My post / question touches on the next physcological milestone for bitcoin believers.

This might help you:

http://money.visualcapitalist.com/all-of-the-worlds-money-and-markets-in-one-visualization/

Compare it with current silver price to see if we are there already. Then target Carlos slim.

Good perspective! How long have the others been in play? Would be interesting to see this same chart with current market data on a historical timeline...

BTW: Thats an old chart from 2015. Bitcoin, as i'm sure you know, has grown to a 20B market cap since.

Hate to burst your bubble but a dose of reality is required.

Did bitcoin achieve price parity with gold when it matched at 1g, 1 tola, 1 tael, 1 imperial oz, 1kg?

Pick a measure, p.s. you cant because they are not directly comparable.

Who cares that bitGOLD is down.  Bitcoin is the NEW gold!

The WEBBOT has predicted $13000 BTC by next year, and yes, his proprietary predictive linguistics program predicted the bitcoin price with 90% accuracy throughout all of 2016.

https://www.cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-price-will-triple-gold-in-2018-silver-achieves-parity-with-gold-clif-high

bitGOLD will only go up 4x and bitSILVER will reach parity with bitGOLD.

Get with the times.  The future times:

Cliff might be high, but that is the source of his power:

http://usawatchdog.com/the-deep-state-is-dying-clif-high/

Thanks for sharing! I'm ready for a $13K Bitcoin.  Grin The Gold and Silver predictions are interesting as well...

Yep, thats why i said compare the current silver price (although more silver will have been mined). Also you will get an idea from this chart for why tax payers are propping the banking system up. That huge steaming derivatives pile means nobody knows who owes who what, and it would take longer than a 10million BTC small transcation spam attack to unwind.
