Unconfirmed for 6 hours now, first one confirmed in 5 minutes

I bought some bitcoins from my friend to spend on some items, I spent 0.8 coins and that went through in 5 minutes.

Then I spent 2.19 coins to the same vendor, and this one is taking more than 6 hours to confirm. Can anyone give any suggestions as to what to do? It's my first time using bitcoins.

As the transaction is confirmed but one thing you should know that some time some transaction gets delay due to getting stuck in traffic of transaction even if you pay high fees some time it happens. So you have to keep some patience and even if the problem comes you can use the transaction accelerator to get fast confirmation.

Sometimes that time is normal for bitcoin transactions but if it seems that transaction isn't confirming the way you were excepted, than you can to try bitcoin accelerators. Welcome to the first surprise that comes to most bitcoin newcomers - my very first transaction took under a half hour but it was still something of a surprise to me until I learnt about transaction fees, and how these affected (at the time) priority mechanism. Priority estimates then slowly started to be less and less accurate, and now, only https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ seems to give an estimate closest to actual time taken.

That accelerator has a limit of 100 txn to include in every block that they will mine. I think it may help to accelerate a transaction but at most cases it still isthe est to send a transaction with a proper amount of fee or even better with a higher fee if you want it to be confirmed fast.
