Usually you do a crowdsale. However there is no esay way of raising capital as everyone here are experienced with the altcoin fundraising process and probbaly not going to fall for yoru scam if you were going to do one.

you have to offer a solid timeline of events and stick to it, and show proof of your dev team.

Good luck.

You mean an ico?better forget it you seems a newbie in this industry and don't how all things work out it will definitely fail what you will offer have already been offered from the thousand coins listed in the announcement section, unless you have a new kind of algo like MRAI,but since you are not a developer yourself,so better forget and just adopt already existing coins.

maybe by that time I had experienced it to raise money by playing and selling on bittrex best market and poloniex, maybe that way you will make a profit, but to make buying and selling I think it requires patience was really good to get profits very big to do that.

I thiink you mean an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) also known as crowdfunding, if you think you have a solid game plan and  your project has unique  specifications compared to many existing altcoin today then youre good to go, you can make an announcement topic in alt ann section of this forum and discuss details of your project, specs, roadmap, dev teams and other important details.

As many mentioned did already, it's all about crowd selling or crowd funding. You need to market out your coin and that will be better if you do really had solid plan (road map) on it as you mentioned. But usually when you got a good collection after the ICO. There are people that doesn't believe in long term with newly come out projects so they are starting to dump it.

There is nothing 'gamey' about starting a coin, all solid game plans are scams!

If you have a design for a solid thing /like Ethereum/, something good or better - you will raise capital in no time and you will expand.

Plus just do your homework and retro-watch what other successful projects did. Such a low input from your side, imho -.-

First they do crowdfunding or what we call ICO or Initial Coin Offering. They encourage investors to buy their coins and invest in their projects. After a few days, the value of the coin rises if there is a continuous investing on their projects and if the their developer are good in promoting and handling it.

I think what he's asking is how to have a successful ICO,
There are a lot that goes on before the ICO,

you need a solid marketing team
You need a good development team
You need to have a credible project idea and is attractive to the public

These 3 are critical if you would stand any chance of raising any money from the public

Transparency and a trusted escrow are the big must, you should be ready to show who you all are and what you are capable of and what have you done in the past, dev who comes here as a newbie and offering an ico immediately will definitely get the rant of the people, because they are motivated by greed..

When starting a coin, how does one do a offering to raise capital if they have a solid game plan

Even you have a solid plan for your coin but you don't have enough coverage to know people that you've got one of it.

That will not make you known for having that "solid" plan without advertisement. That's why a lot of ICO's became successful because of advertisement and marketing.

It will raise the awareness of people that you've got some good idea that can give them profit when it will be launched.

You should be able to sell your skills in freelancing sites , skills such as web design logo design banner design e.t.c are highly in demand the proceeds from all these  can be use  to trade coins buy when price falls and sell when the price has risen.

When starting a coin, how does one do a offering to raise capital if they have a solid game plan

you do a ico and you get the funds for your project or you instamine early with other or again you can prmeine 1% or more and have your funds if the coins do well, all method that are used by many dev in the altsection, and i don't like any of them if a dev is serious about his project he should simply invest by his own pocket, not scamming other for his project

You can start a campaign on any crowdfund site like kickstarter or indiegogo. I don't if kickstarter permits this but i had seen a campaign on indiegogo but it had raised only 2000$.
Second you can crowdfund on your official site and promote it.
This third one most of the people follow start a thread on this forum and get an escrow and raise funds and you can advertise about your coin through signature campaign or twitter campaigns.
Off topic : I wouldn't recommend you to start a coin as there are more than 1000's coins out there and most of them are useless investments.
