sold for a small loss earlier, went to make some food, come back 20 minutes later and bitstamp price is at $103........  Shocked
Some pretty crazy price moves there. I just set a buy order up around 101, and after reading a page of this thread the price was 118?

its not $118

It was for about 30 seconds

That's because no one is putting asks and lots of suckers are tricked into thinking they must hop on the train fast by the rising price.

I know because I was one of those suckers at the bitstamp rebound 2 hours ago.

I think it's because people see 2-hours old price MtGox $125 on bitcoincharts and they think it's the real price...

The "real price" is the one people are ready to pay. I still wait to see it touch $100 or lower.

It's interesting no one wanted to sell for $100 on any exchange, considering we just passed that a few days ago.

Give it some months and BTC will go to single digit with or without the help of a dysfunctional MtGox.

Give it some months and BTC will go to single digit we will still have no idea where price is headed to with or without the help of a dysfunctional MtGox.

Fixed it.

probably, down to 106,   yeah.  If I was another exchange, I'd be trying to find a range from | 88 <---> 93 | .  =)  But I do strongly feel like 125 is a fair price right now, and that it should go sideways with higher volume for a week or so, if we're lucky.

Not really, this today pretty much sealed the deal for below 50.

No... it didn't? The price didn't even touch $100 on any major exchange and has rebounded since then.
