Hello-

I would first like to introduce myself and a project that I may be interested in pursuing. I am a business student in Boston, MA and have a full time job at an investment firm. I have developed a passion/hobby for bitcoins over the past several month and joined this forum recently. I have limited experience in the technology field but have quickly developed a passion and hobby for researching bitcoins and the impact that they may have on the world.

I was wondering if anyone (especially those new to bitcoins and those who do not have a vast understanding of investing) would be interested in a weekly newsletter regarding the business and investment opportunities that are available with bitcoins. I have done extensive research (20-40 hours per week) over the past few months on the several bitcoins websites, securities, exchanges and upcoming projects and am interested in sharing my findings and providing a value to the bitcoin community in a weekly newsletter. I plan on it containing both a quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment opportunities in the bitcoin communities.

I was considering charging 0.005 bitcoins for each issue or 0.01 bitcoins for a monthly subscription.

I was wondering if anyone had any feedback regarding this project and would love to hear it.

I want to clarify that I would primarily be writing from a business perspective and looking at how one can use their bitcoins to have an impact on the larger bitcoin community use their holdings to produce income. I would not be going into detail on the more technical side of bitcoin.

I appreciate any feedback that you guys would be willing to provide.

Thanks

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

With all due respect: My suggestion would be to offer services free of charge. When you have substantial momentum and credibility, you may consider charging. But instead my suggestion would be: Offer online info free of charge and try to establish BTC consulting services instead.

Interesting. I appreciate all of the feedback so far. I think that I may start out with a few free issues to show everyone the idea that I have kind of been putting together.

I didn't even think about the market manipulation aspect of it and agree that any bitcoin investment advice would have to be careful of this.

My primary motive behind this project was to find a way that I can use my skills and experiences to bring value to the bitcoin community and ultimately learn even more about the projects and opportunities that are out there for those who are willing to do the research and be careful.

Thanks again for all of the great feedback.

If I started it out just as like a blog regarding the various ways to invest and accumulate bitcoins is that something that people here would be interested in/find useful?
