So I do most of my activity behind TOR.

When I signed up here, I had to pay a fee as I signed up behind TOR as no doubt some numpties scammed some people or something. I had no problem paying the fees as they were tiny.

Now I find that I can't post a lot of the time as people are posting from the same IP as me which means I have to wait like 5 minutes... However 'this lessens with more trust'.

So I don't want to move away from TOR - yes I know there are some VPNs out there which have no logs policy, and my actual set up is TOR over no logs VPN.

How do I get more of this trust? It's getting annoying trying to post, not being able to and having to try and wait it out or reload TOR.

As I go to post this thread, I wonder how many times I will need to reload TOR before I can post.

It has nothing to do with trust , time between posts action depends on your rank and it will reduced as your rank increase
I've adjusted the limits to make spamming more difficult.

The one you are saying that you have to pay before you can post is, you registered on this forum using an IP address that has an evil points, maybe those IP was banned or blacklisted on this forum, the reason is the VPN you used, thats why you have to pay for it or you have to register again without using a VPN. And the 5 minutes interval after posting from your IP was affected and also with your rank and to avoid spamming explained by @umaOuma

But it's also linked to IP too right?

When I'm posting on TOR, and reload - then I can magically post.... Or is this purely coincidence - and it's based just on rep and length of time as per the table?

Though I dont know how TOR works of changing its IP address but that's the most cleared answered as your current activity have the max time interval before posting again from the IP you used to post but as the ip changed on TOR that's why you can post again without waiting those interval.

make a new profile and not use the tor network while signing up.... after you gain jr by posting a load of crap anywhere on the forum log out and log back in with tor and this issue should not pose itself again

Yeah, the posting restrictions get removed as your activity goes up by posting over time.

Check out https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0 for a bit more info on it.

the bolded part doesn't matter, even the total time you logged in is 1,000,000 days but if you are not posting you won't get anywhere, only posting within activity periods will help

All TOR IPs are subject to "points of evil" on this forum as people could just spam creating newbie accounts on the TOR network and spam useless content or advertising content onto the forum, which is something we are against.

As people above me has said, this has nothing to do with using TOR. Once you get above 16 activity points, your time per post limit drops dramatically. Again, this is as a result of people abusing the forum by posting spammy content as a newbie.

If you want to avoid paying the fee, you can always sign up under a normal network connection, or just go connect to a public wifi or computer. Once you create your bitcointalk account, you can then proceed to using that account on TOR without having to pay anything.

Hopefully i helped.

what most people dont know is that there are several proxy pokers that penetrate the tor system and do a excellent job of resolving your actual ip without you even knowing it. many websites that reject tor connections"for any of a plethora of reasons" actually run these proxy revolvers without  the client ever knowing it ! 999% of the tor users have or will use the situation with bad intent at least one time as everyone has or will! the only way to stay off the radar is to not use the internet period! but once your online; safety is a joke on you if you really need to know the truth!

For a better experience use normal browsers. The reason why you post with TOR when you press the reload button is because TOR automatically changes IP very often in order to protect your anonymity.

webmasters use api's to update their block lists something like this one......
tor is your mask but it also masks you from seeing who is looking at you with your mask screened off......

You have trust issues in the first place. I mean why to use tor for posting on public forum? I mean its not guns & murder forum, its a bitcoin forum man Cheesy.
So you have more problems than flood limits on this forum, TOR is known from slow loading page speeds depends on nodes you get in your path.

True.  If you're concerned about your anonymity or security, you could always connect to a normal network and then go to a public wifi network while using your VPN.  This way, if anyone gets past your VPN and finds your real IP it'll still be in a public place and no one will find out where you live or be able to track you down.

However, as far as I know this is just post restrictions on new members - people with a very small amount of activity can only post once every 6 minutes.

When you have a new account you can only post once every 6 minutes that time decreases after your first 15 posts there is a formula for that, an yes it is linked to your IP so I suppose that what it happens is that when you reload the page with TOR your IP changes and you are able to post without waiting but refrain from doing that since you are almost out of the newbie jail.

A few different things with your question here. For starters, it's not the trust that you are concerned about. On the forum, this is a completely different thing. If you want to be more reliable on the Forum, then you can just disable your masking device and use your real IP.

However, in order to be able to post more often and at a faster rate you must develop a higher ranking on the forum. I am not sure of the exact numbers off the top of my head, but you'll be able to easily find them with a little bit of research.

In order to get a higher rank, you must post more frequently on topics (meaning not off topic). The score updates every once in a while and sooner or later you'll be able to gain the privileges that comes with having a higher rank.

I dont think that using Tor and having such IPs or problems about it will not affect gaining your trust. As you said, it is just gaining problem from your posting. That is the problem having such IPs.

A few different things with your question here. For starters, it's not the trust that you are concerned about. On the forum, this is a completely different thing. If you want to be more reliable on the Forum, then you can just disable your masking device and use your real IP.

Not good advice at all.... The forum can quickly become a very hostile place, when you say something that someone else do not agree with. Some

people will even try to dox you to find incriminating evidence on you, to attack you. I use several methods to hide my real IP for this very reason.

Things can get out of hand, very quickly. Use every tools you can to stay anonymous... { some governments even target their own citizens }  Angry

Use OS like Tails to make it even more difficult for people to trace you.  Wink
