Does quantum computing even exist?

nope and if you read into it it pretty much quackery. They still do do do not know alot about how physics works especially quantum physics .Remember Dark energy and Dark matter make up most of the universe and they have no idea what these things are.I guessing there a few people making mint taking that military government money Grin.Yeah dude i so close to developing one just give me 20 million and i have one in a few years

as a far as i now only ECDSA is vulnerable to them man, it's a part form the hash fuction to have the private key, but aside form that part the other are quantum proof, but perhaps in the future quantum computer can break sha256 and more, at this point you should be worried about your bank account
ECDSA is used to hash public key from the private key. If someone have your private key(when you make a transaction), your private keys can be compromised but it isn't that fast either. Just use a new address after every transaction and you will be fine.

If ECDSA were to be able to speed up the hashing process, it won't matter, the difficulty will even the effects out. ASIC would likely be thousand times faster than quantum computers either way.

Does quantum computing even exist?

Quantum computing began on 1970's. Quantum mechanics has been around even before Albert Einstein formulate the theory of relativity. One of the best pioneers in the quantum theory is Stephen Hawking ( world's renowned phisicist ). With the release of the D wave which they claimed that they invented the world's first quantum computer where they used it in simulating complex phenomena and came up with positive results, the quantum computing have been confirmed working. I don't know if they are just making up stories but what I know is that people the in the 18th hundreds don't believe in binary. Quantum computing (computer) exist, and maybe for another 50 or 100 years, we also have one in our home.

Is Bitcoin vulnerable to quantum computing?
U should ask if cryptography is vulnerable to quantum computing? In theory yes, but this is only theory for last 27 years Wink and that won't change fast. People always adjust to problems don't worry.

And I agree with that statement...if there is one thing that I learned online and yes even offline it is the fact that we always adjust to situations and come up with immediate solutions though sometimes we forget the long-term view and some problems can crop up again and again. I am not really familiar with quantum computing and I am not even well-versed with its definition and implication but I know that when it comes to technology we can be able to answer any problem. My main concern is: will it affect Bitcoin value?

Is Bitcoin vulnerable to quantum computing?
Bitcoin is not vulnerable to me, as long as there is a development happen into bitcoin because of the technology I think there will be no problem at all for the bitcoin enthusiast here in this community industry. So there's nothing to worry about it in quantum computers due to it is only a delusion or madness.

Does quantum computing even exist?

I have the same question here. A lot of people have mentioned that quantum computing is a myth. But if it is not then an emergency hard fork to a new Proof of Work algorithm will have to happen.

Is Bitcoin vulnerable to quantum computing?
Quantum computing studies theoretical computation systems that make direct use of quantum-mechanical phenomena.Quantum computers are different from binary digital electronic computers based on transistors.

It depends what you mean
1) As an example, Is your machine running windows and storing bitcoins in a wallet, open to being attacked? yes, definately, the same as hackers stealing money from your internet banking. A virus or trojan once installed can easily steal your coins. But this is not a vulnerability in Bitcoin.
2) The Bitcoin protocol seems resistant to attacks and hasn't been compromised yet. Individual node machines that are compromised would be ignored by the rest of the network. So I would say Bitcoin itself is not vulnerable to viruses.
However it may be vulnerable to a DDoS attack, I guess time will tell.

I do not think that you need to be afraid of this vulnerability. Quantum computers have been talked about for a long time, but I do not think that they will bring danger to bitcoin. He now has more important dangers

Bitcoin is based on a community (on a large mean) and one of the biggest treat is the misinformations spread all over the web. People need to swipe the shit posted on news ect

Does quantum computing even exist?

LOL yes it exists and it is used. You may read Quantum Computers Will Destroy Bitcoin, Scientists Warn and Quantum computers would break Bitcoin's security

Is Bitcoin vulnerable to quantum computing?
That we have to wait and see.We may have to wait for twenty to thirty more years to see what happens. It is said some safety measures would be taken to prevent bitcoin being damaged by quantum computing.

I have seen estimates of 3 to 5 years. Even Google is working on it. Everything will change.
