Time:
4PM PST

*Update*
Second Los Angeles Bitcoin Meeting will be on July 9, 2011 Saturday at 4:00PM at a park in Burbank. Place will be same as last time. Please call to let me know your coming and how many friends your bringing if any.

Los Angeles Represent!

I would like to host a Bi-Weekly Bitcoin Meetup Group in Burbank, CA. I think meeting people in person and sharing ideas can help ferment ideas, build trust, and connect people to work together outside the forums.

Possible ideas for discussion:
How to get more people involved in bitcoin.
Pooling together to rent a space for mining ( if theres enough people )
Coming up with ideas for good websites, promotions, and other stuff.
Setup a local exchange in Los Angeles.
Buying and Selling Bitcoin in Person.
How to secure wallets

Please email me at Sebuh@live.com if you are interested.

The first meeting went well. We had 4 people show up and we discussed a lot of great ideas and tested some software for one of the people that showed up.

i got two people interested already so there are 3 of us already. two miners, and someone interested in buying around 1K usd worth of bitcoins. I dont have that many bitcoins but if someone else in LA was willing to meet up with us we can sell him some.

and maybe other miners/buyers can get together and exchange also.

I use to belong to a linux group and we held our meetings at a Dennys.  They have backrooms and if you buy food they let you in.  I would not go to someones house.

I live in westwood; seeing as I don't have a car I don't think I can make it all the way to Burbank.

Sunday 4PM, maybe sooner and going later. Lets figure out where to meet. I was thinking somewhere with open areas to sit. Like a park.

Interested too but I live in Orange county, bummer. Santa monica is 50 miles away from me =(

None the less I think meeting up is a great way to get this movement going since its way easier to use btc face to face if both persons have a cell phone with a bitcoin app on it.

If anyone wants to do a meetup in orange county, would love to join.

I'll try to make it.  I'm doing the LA Film fest right now, so I might have a conflict (closing night), but we'll see.

Yea sounds like a good idea. I was thinking of meeting at UCI but the parking rates are through the roof (10$/day, are you kidding me?).

Anyone else in the OC area, interested in meeting up?

Would you allow a buttcoin enthusiast to also attend?
