Interesting. Everything is same on both websites, except domain. I never heard about Bitcointalk.pw and I don't know doest belongs to Bitcointalk.org. But I remember that few years ago I found alternative Bitcointalk forum domain (can't remember does it was bitcointalk.pw or not). Maybe it is used when bitcointalk.org goes down or avoid internet censore in some countries.

Same here. I searched a post on google yesterday and use bitcointalk keyword. I've seen that BitCoinTalk.PW (Bitcointalk Proxy Website) too, it's my 1st time to visit that site, also never heard about it before. Seems that all post are there, same posts and usernames. However, even if that's the case, I don't trust the site and don't ever tried to log in there. Let's be extra careful.

interesting. I also visit it and I think it is the copy of bitcointalk.org. All posts are totally same including mod, and users. To see the thread about bitcointalk.pw, it is said that someone sells domain. Probably LTU_btc is right.

Lol no do not try your password there!!! Maybe it's just an archive basically? If you delete posts are they still on that website or are they updated in real time? That's really strange. I wonder who owns it. Anyone have the whois? I never know where to find them.

When something gets popularity soon the copy version too gets into use. Same is the existence of bitcointalk.pw, even the scam websites have the same name with small changes from the trusted website names. We need to be careful while using those.

Wouldn't put anything on that site before confirming it with an admin or someone on here that the site is actually run by an admin or someone along those lines with power on here. I'd highly doubt someone sophisticated enough to setup a system to auto-transfer everything from here to their is just doing it out of the kindness of their heart.
Gotta be some sort of big money involved in stealing some good juicy accounts on here with that phishing thing, if it is phishing like we think it is.
Steer clear.

Yeah it would be nice if the admin or any moderator would confirm if bitcointalk.org is anyway related to bitcointalk.pw. Like the OP mentioned it would require some skills, good solid server and big money to not just have a simple clone, but with the same thousands and thousands of posts. I have no clue how I landed on this proxy website, but when I noticed I am not logged in, I saw the .pw extention and just left. I browsed about 10 or 15 threads until I realized it, SSL, same posts, some people might not notice it and just log in. IMO I do think it is a phishing site. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1331645.0Freedoge.co had sold this domain to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=339814 (sinecoin) who was last active on May 27, 2016 In the auction thread one of the bidders had mentioned, if i win will donate this domain to bitcointalk.org owners

We are not sure with this site, Never try to login in that proxy website with your account until not confirmed by admin, I tried to create an account and got some error many times maybe its a trap or phishing site, unbelievable its almost the same as bitcointalk.org .

I am also curious about this one. If Bitcointalk.org is mirrored for redundancy, we should hope that the passwords are kept secure. They should also notify everyone about this, if this is not the case and if this is a attempt to spoof this forum. I hope one of the Admins will respond to this. ^hmmmmmm^
I still think this is a scam site.

DO NOT TRY TO LOGIN FROM YOUR BITCOINTALK ACCOUNT ON ANY MIRROR SITE. No one is sure that if it's the official mirror or now so it is best to avoid taking any risk that could compromise your bitcointalk account. However, I find this mirror useful in case if the main site is down. One can read the latest post without having to log in. IGNORE WARNING AT YOUR OWN RISK

Hope everyone is aware of the long running https://fanbitcoin.com, mirror site of bitcointalk. I guess now are getting another one. But I remember, people were reporting about their madness on forgetting to check the URL in browser and trying to log in fanbitcoin with bitcointalk credentials. (Then they were advised to change their password immediately to secure their accounts). Having a mirror site might create unnecessary struggles some times. Need to take care accordingly. edit: fanbitcoin is not working for me. I guess that is the reason we got another mirror services ?

That website, and any website which clones and mirrors Bitcointalk, is not affiliated with bitcointalk in any way whatsoever. Do not try logging in to those websites as they may be phishing sites.

This is definitely a phishing site, once you mistaken it to bitcointalk.org and login with your bitcointalk details, they will take over your bitcointalk account and lose it permanently,we have seen similar sites like this in financial services,so unless the admin here stated here,do not go or block this site..

I've seen different domains with the same look with bitcointalk, but this forum is different, I tried to edit one of my posts here (bitcointalk.org) and when I refresh the page from that site (bitcointalk.pw), and it got edited also? And tried to delete it then it got deleted also. Are this forum's database is the same with that forum? If @achow101 is right, then how's that possible. If this two forum has different databases then this will not be happening but...

There are many of these kinds of sites, probably hundreds. Most of them are most likely trying to host advertisements without having any original content, although some of these are probably also phishing sites and it is never going to be safe entering your password onto any of these sites.

No, the databases are not the same. Theymos does not operate the other site. What the other site is doing is that it is constantly checking Bitcointalk for changes to any part of the site (threads, profiles, etc.) and then mirroring that exactly.
