I was wondering how much power this rig would use running 24/7. I'm also concerned with if a regular Canadian house power socket can handle this beast. Thanks!

That's not going to be 12 gh/s -- 12 7970's maybe hit 8.5 gh/s

It has a 1600W PSU, so I'm pretty sure it'll be less than 1600W from the wall.

Ya you'd be lucky to hit 8.5GH/s. I'd say you're prolly closer to 8GH/s, but it depends on how far you can OC each card.

Most people assume an average of ~100W for your motherboard, CPU, and everything that's not the GPUs.

Those GPUs will each use about 250W.

Your PSU is an 80Plus Gold, so that's nice. However, it's not a single rail PSU. It's got 6 rails, which is bad for mining. I'd suggest THIS one. Each rig will pull ~ 1100W, and that PSU can handle that no problem.

Totaly, you're looking at ~3.3kW.

crazyates is spot on with the figures above.
Have a wattmeter regularly measuring a 7970 x 3 rig
I would also agree that you will be looking at 8GH/s - 8.6GH/s for that rig.

Your LGA 1155 CPU is not compatible with your LGA 2011 motherboard. Just FYI.

It has a 1600W PSU, so I'm pretty sure it'll be less than 1600W from the wall.

At the wall draw is equal to DC draw divided by the efficiency. That PSU is an 80+ Gold, so at max DC draw, it could pull 1600W / 0.87 ~= 1839W at the wall.

However, the components in this build don't max out the PSU. I think Crazyates' assessment is pretty close.

250 watts each?  Sure, it's possible to do that.  If you're pulling 250 watts per 7970 though, you're doing it wrong.  My FIVE card rigs don't even pull 1100W.  996 watts (at the wall) for 3050 Mhash/sec (with the same Seasonic power supply).  I'm confident that I could hit 3150 Mhash/sec and still keep my 5x7970 rigs at 1100W or less.

Undervolt.  Drop the memory clock.  Keep the temps down below 72c (huge leakage on these chips with higher temps).
