Without solving the block size problem is possible? first of all, what problem? lol you mean the spam attack that has been ended for a while? or the fact that fees went up? second of all if we assume there is a problem with "block size" it doesn't matter when you buy land. you pay $1 fee for a $50,000 (or whatever the cost is in USD) transaction for example. do you see a problem here?

Without solving the block size problem is possible? I find this comment to be example of biased perception. What is the problem here? Suddenly bitcoin is not good just because there is scaling war? Bitcoin is still very much usable and solid cryptocurrency. Probably the best if you want to use it as payment method for luxury goods. This project is accepting bitcoin as payment for for land sold through the presale, not groceries in local convenience store. You don't have to 10 minutes confirmation time when you want to buy land worth more than couple thousand dollars. It will be totally fine.

This is great news to hear buddy. Till now we heard the companies and individual persons who are top in the economy only started accepting bitcoins but this is good initialization one country and government. I think we can expect the price bump again due to this adoption from Norway government.

Just one land developer looking for free PR. But there 2 good reasons not to buy anything in Norway. First one is that it's an awfully cold place. To Americans, Norway is North of Quebec. My last time there was in Mid-April, and there was snow nearly everywhere. Second, Norway is a fascist country. It's impossible to live there without the government watching and controlling your every moves. Don't even think of doing anything anonymously in Norway. Credit cards are everywhere, and taxes are among the highest in the world. BTC wasn't invented to be successful in countries like Norway. BTC was invented to destroy countries like Norway.

One city in Norway is nothing, only if Norway as state will declare Bitcoin as primary currency, it is then important news. One city can declare, what they want, it is nothing in fact. And more possible Bitcoin will not be implemented in Norway or in any other country, because many people use simple paper cash.

I thought it was a private city in Norway for Libertarians and not governed by the Norwegian government? I hope they can handle the "waiting" periods for transaction confirmation with all the shit surrounding Bitcoin and scaling at the moment. I also saw something about this at https://news.bitcoin.com/the-libertarian-city-liberstad-in-norway-is-moving-forward-using-bitcoin-as-primary-currency/

That's really an interesting and refreshing news for bitcoin users. We might see a great adoption within the year if these kinds of things happen more often. Though, it's kind of hard to imagine if people do use it now as there is still a lot of issues surrounding bitcoins right now with the BU and segwit war that is happening.

@ Red Fish, the journey of 1,000 miles, start by a one step. This is just the begining. It doen'nt matter if, this recognition is from a fraction city in Norway. What's matter is that bitcoin is gradually gaining momentum Thanks Bitcseo

It's very good news but I would like to hear more details about it. For example, we know that each city in Norway have to follow laws in Norway. We know that bitcoin is not official currency in Norway. So, they can only use bitcoin as alternative way of payment, not official money, and on the end of day they will have to convert all bitcoin funds to local currency, and deposit to bank account. I don't think that without new law any bank can legally accept bitcoin as official money. Can you share more about this, please? How they will solve all this legal issues?

I was actually looking for a source of the information before you came with this and I can say its been helpful. Although, I am happy that things are gradually moving in the right direction for bitcoin but the issue is concerning the city if the central government of federal government as the case may be will allow such. Over here., issue relating to currency are exclusively left to the federal government to decide and not the federating units whatsoever.

This thing requires a bit more nuance..
It is not an official Norwegian city or project. It is a private project where a company wants to start a city on current farming land. They want to encourage everybody to use bitcoin as primary currency.
It is definately not for everybody, even though the land price is very cheap (4 usd for a sqaure meter).

Amidst of all the chaos and uncertainty that happened in BTC these past days, this certain news somehow provided fresh outlook for the said cryptocurrency. It would be very interesting if you could provide additional information about this. This is the first that I've heard about buying real estate using BTC. Hopefully, more of this deals will happen in the future.

Sounds good but is it realy possible? Maybe as equaly currency to fiat, that sounds feasible but Bitcoin as primary currency seems a bit like science fiction to me. Anyway, for final attitude about this more relevant information are needed although Norway is very progressive and open minded state so everything is possible.

This seems to be a good news for all the bitcoin users around the world. In the past liberland is the one which has accepted bitcoin as their major currency with primary acceptance. Now a name getting closer to it adopting bitcoin as primary currency as well accepting into property business is an added beauty. Because realtors is an huge money circulation business.
