Particl Desktop users don't need to do anything to benefit from this Particl Core update. Our app looks for latest Core on start and will automatically upgrade you to 0.16.0.1 in the background.
ParticlDev team has 0.16.0.1rc1 up on our Github for review https://github.com/particl/particl-core/releases/tag/v0.16.0.1rc1 This is a major release merging Bitcoin 0.16.0 updates and advances that went live 2 weeks ago onto Particl Expect official release next Monday March 19th if review goes well.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Ether should be in top, greater mass adoption and more market cap value

DARPAL Rating only looks at the quality of the code in general, not the coin's social metrics. They explain here (https://medium.com/@Darpalrating/darpalrating-we-went-through-133-blockchain-projects-github-heres-our-code-audit-report-for-5c060df3af44) how they rate coins.

From the first look this really looks like a good serious project.
But it has it's past revolving around Shadowcash, and rather bad opinion of it.

I want to know, why it was renamed? To clear name of it ?

Why nobody almost never mention Shadowcash past?

And no mining.
It really looks like a centralization of a possesion of coins, that's probably why it hasn't got much interest.

https://particl.wiki/faq_token_swap#particl_token_swap

Shadowcash was broadly associated with being a Silkroad 2.0, which is not what the project is about. There was several reasons for the rebrand and new blockchain:
- To clear name of any association to dark web markets.
- To get voluntary funding from the community to help fund the project (currently safely funded until Q2 2019)
- To start a new blockchain with tech (better wallet framework, better privacy tech (RingCT, CT vs stealth addresses + ring signatures), major codebase upgrade, new features such as decentralized voting, etc)

All SDC holders were offered a 1:1 swap for Particl.

I am curious why you have a negative opinion of Shadowcash? Also note that most of the current Particl team never worked on Particl. Particl is a brand new project with a different vision, and the Shadowcash community was offered the right to follow the new project without being negatively impacted by the swap!

https://www.reddit.com/r/Particl/comments/87bo94/community_initiative_fund_30k_parts_kialo/

Last year, the community got together and donated some of their coins to a Community Initiative fund to rescue the SDC holders who had missed the coin swap exchange deadline. There is now 30,000 PARTs left in that fund and the great majority of claims have been cleared.

This presents a good opportunity for our community to discuss and brainstorm a strategy to use these coins to benefit the Particl project. Whether it be for hiring new devs, airdropping onto new potential users, sponsoring some kind of events, or any similar strategy, there needs to be a clear community consensus.

To help structure the debate, we’ve decided to open our first Particl Kialo thread. Kialo is a debate platform that maps complex discussions/debates to make them clearer to follow:

“Kialo enables you to visualize discussions as an interactive tree of pro and con arguments. At the top is the thesis, which is supported or weakened by pro and con arguments underneath. Each one of these arguments can branch into subsequent arguments that support or attack them in turn.”

Community Initiative Fund Kialo Discussion Thread: https://www.kialo.com/particl---what-to-do-with-unused-community-funds-11994/11994.0/11994.0

Using the platform is not very hard and quite intuitive. You can go through this quite small but informative Kialo tour to get the gist of how the platform functions.

Here are the general guidelines to use Kialo in this particular debate’s context:

General guidelines

  • Keep each post short
  • Only include one argument per “pros”/”cons” and one proposal per “thesis”.

How to propose a strategy

  • Create a new thesis at the top of the tree
  • Write your proposal, in a neutral fashion, under the 500 character limit. Do not include the “pros” of your proposal yet.
  • If your proposal was discussed in this Reddit thread or elsewhere, add a link to your thesis that links back to the discussion of your proposal. Linking outside posts can also be useful if explaining the scope of your proposal takes more than 500 characters.
  • Once your proposal is added, click on it and then add the “pros” which are the arguments supporting your proposal. They should clearly demonstrate why adopting your strategy would be beneficial. Make one argument per “pros”. If you believe there are many arguments supporting your proposal, make separate “pros” posts.

How to add an argument or counter-argument

  • Navigate to where you want to leave an argument or counter-argument and add a “pros” or “cons” post.
