Government "Cyanide Bomb" in Idaho Injures 14-Year-Old Boy and Kills His Dog

In a truly baffling act, the Wildlife Services of U.S. Department of Agriculture planted the device to kill coyotes, wolves, cougars, foxes and other animals considered nuisances for farmers and ranchers.  It seems unbelievably reckless to me to place these devices near trails and farms, even with signs that might be missed in the dark or lost to weather conditions.

Canyon Mansfield, 14, was playing with  Casey near their home when he touched what he thought looked like a sprinkler head. The device erupted and sprayed them with toxic cyanide gas.  Casey died at the scene despite efforts by Canyon;'s father, a physician, to save the dog.

The device is a M-44 and the government has been sued of its use.  Various public interest groups argue that the devices violate federal law and put both animals and humans at risk.  That would seem a compelling argument when the government is placing devices that shoot toxic gas into the air when triggered hear trails or farms. I cannot imagine the logic behind this practice, particularly near populated areas.

i dont understand how the USDA is doing these things in  populated areas, To protects livestocks from coyote and wolves. Dogs and People can be killed with this Cyanide and its time they put a stop to it, The farmers should protect their livestocks themselves.

This is the little tip of it. There are lots of things in medicine that kill. Nobody knows what chemtrails are doing to us all. The boy and his dog simply happened to fall prey to one of the more out-in-the-open dangers of government.

This is just ridiculous. Don't they even notify residents whenever they do stuff like this? And this is toxic chemical, basically poison, being placed out where people might go, shouldn't there have been public consultation first, before they went along with this stupid idea? Oh wait, this would have just fizzled out had the public known the plan beforehand.

Thank goodness in our country we don't have to worry about cyanide canisters. Just robbery, assault, mistakenly being killed by police, terrorism and poverty.

This one seems to be a genuine accident. And the authorities place such devices near the trails and ranches, to prevent individuals from getting attacked by the coyotes and cougars (I meant the animal Puma Concolor, to be specific).

Well if it was a genuine accident then what can you do? I seriously doubt that they'd place something like this without any notification or place it somewhere where it might hurt somebody. Also, how long have they been planting these "Cyanide bombs" and is this the first case in several years that someone got hurt by it or is it somewhat "occasional" accident?

I thought the use of chemical weapons was banned long ago. I guess if your using them against your own citizens and during peace time then its okay.. 

These are just land mines, whats to stop someone from removing the sign or relocating these things to a more populated area? Like a school playground.

Poor kid. Hopefully he'll recover swiftly but that's not going to bring his dog back to life.

You are right. And, the thing that deters people from doing this is their fear of prison.

Now, despite the potential for giving the criminals a short-term way out...

1. Government prosecution of people is most often done without correct due process. Because of this, judgments are void judgments, and can be vacated.

2. Most of the time Government gets away with faulty due process because of the ignorance of the people.

3. Government strengthens their faulty due process by getting people to hire attorneys. This makes the people wards of the court, because by law and contract an attorney is an officer of the court, and owes much more allegiance responsibility to the court than he does to his client.

The fact is, the American Government has little strength over the common man/woman when they have knowledge of their strength as man/woman.

But, if there were man/woman strength in use in the courts all over the place, the criminal wouldn't be stuck in prison for 20 years. He would be executed... in almost all cases where he cause death or dismemberment.

The reason the courts like it the way they do, they can then play the part of the criminal without fear of death.
