There is one simple way to earn bitcoin - there's a bitcoin faucet paying 4% interest on deposits (over 30,000 satoshi). Deposit 30,000 satoshi and the interest starts paying, daily. You can also play the faucet rolls, lottery, or gamble. And as far as I know there's no limit to how much you can deposit.

If you're letting your balance sit idle, why not earn interest?

As quoted being into bitcoin is good, but over expectation should not be there. Because most beginners with much expectations come into bitcoin and in a short gets trapped by the scammers who provide attractive schemes of earning bitcoin. So it's good to learn to some extent and then start using it.

I will suggest to all beginners, If you have less capital than prefer to earn bitcoin from in bitciontalk. Because it is best and also in service section, we can see mostly short works are here to earn bitcoin. But main point is that save the bitcoins and get information about bitcoin on daily basis.
