As Bitclub and Antpool are joining in switching to Bitcoin Unlimited, it seems that after almost three years of endless debate, the time for a conclusive decision has finally arrived.
Will mining pools hard fork together? Which path will miners choose? What will happen to our coins?
What are the possibilities of bitcoin hardfork? There are just so many uncertainties.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I cannot see why Ethereum fork was a failure? Yes, it might have been much stronger before the hard fork.... but it is still the 3rd most successful

Crypto currency at the moment. { $3,914,935,175  - Market Cap } .... Bitcoin will have a significant drop in the price after the hard fork, but this

will be fuelled by uncertainty in the market and not a trust issue in the long-term. It will recover like ETH did and the longest chain will still be the

Bitcoin that would be the most successful.  Wink

Hardfork will never be the future of of bitcoin and if you have read the statement from major exchanges they declared that if any case both BTC and BTU will not be reconciled then HF will be used in a new altcoins which is BTU. Let us just accept the fact that the core developers have won the debate and their code which is segwit will be used in bitcoin.

i wasn't talking about "the article" but you posting "links to articles" over an over.
if you want to just post a link to an article there is board for it called Press (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=77.0) read the stickies and do an appropriate submission.
if you read an article that you liked and have something to tell us about it, then tell us what you think first, as in writing a short paragraph of what YOU think and what YOU found interesting about it and then in the end link the article.

right now you just copy some lines from the article and "advertise" it here. as i said for that there is the press board.

I'm a little worried if this happens, from what I have read about this possible hard-fork this past
few hour it seems that the coin you currently own will be doubled if the split happens and surely
the price of bitcoin will be cut in half, but what worries me is the impact of the issues that this hard-fork
will bring to the users.

This is my current understanding of the situation.

Again, i am terribly sorry. that's just the link of the original article. I've learned my lesson and put yesterday's article at the Press board. b4 i always put the article link at Bitcoin discussion and nobody ever said anything about it, so....As a newbie, i've got so much to learn.
