Maute group has established presence in Metro—‘Bato’

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa on Tuesday said that the Lanao-based Maute group has established its presence in Metro Manila following the arrest of a fifth suspect in the foiled bombing near the United States Embassy in Manila last year.

“This discovery leads us to believe that the Maute group has already established a presence in Metro Manila. As to what extent, that is the subject of our follow-up investigations and operations,” Dela Rosa said in a press conference where he presented the suspect.

Nasip Ibrahim, an alleged Maute extremist, was arrested inside the Salam Compound in Barangay (village) Culiat in Quezon City Monday evening.

This wannabee wants to impressed ISIS so that they will be recognized by the group and be a terror cell in the Philippines. Good thing the PNP caught almost all of them. They wanted to bomb the US embassy, the Nazareno procession and the Miss Universe recently held in the Philippines. This will be another challenge for the Duterte government.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Are they trying to link themselves with ISIS? if yes, then this bad news for the government of President Duterte. So they have Abu Sayyaf, then this one which is Maute group. I say this is bad news because this will another arm group that is fighting the Philippine government. I guess ISIS had to many cells globally fighting under them and this is so frightening.

I haven't been reading the news but fuck! I live in Quezon City somewhere near Culiat. There have been several raids there before, usually drug-related. Same in the ghetto in our baranggay. At the risk of sounding racist I believe we should really start putting racial zoning in our cities like they do Singapore to mix together people rather than having certain groups bunch up into certain spots only. If you happen to like your neighbor, I believe you're less likely to believe those who say those outside your in-group deserve to be eliminated.

Muslim ghettos here in Metro Manila do have a rather unsavory reputation and non-Muslims tend to stay away from them. They really make you feel you're not welcome there. And they're also very likely to have drug peddlers that even the police have stated that drug money is also probably being used to fund terrorist activities down South.

Sigh, seems like so many actors really out to destroy the country.

Get used to it. It is not just maute group that is in Metro Manila. There are other groups that are there. There are even MNLF now that are recruiting military reservists and ROTC graduates in the nearby provinces.

Probably they are just diverting the attention of the authorities that are pounding their camps in the south.
