Unless you're worried that you can't handle a temporary drop (e.g. you need to get stable parts of your investment back over time for some reason) you shouldn't stop.

The drop in value is most likely temporary and it shouldn't be a problem if there's a HF - just keep mining original Bitcoin and it'll probably die off to be honest.

Im going to start mining for the first time, I have no rush for the money like you say... So I will get the s9 then. I will be mining the original btc, or I should be mining the new btu?

there is no new BU yet(and probably will never be), they need consensus, you can favor that chain if you want as i understand, you can show support already but still mining with the original "core chain"

the value will likely not crash more than what already happened, i would go ahead and mine if i had the possibility like you

If you have all the arrangements made and ready to wait for next year to get profit then no don't stop and get those antminer s9 to work for you. :-) I am thinking you should invest now only as the level of mining has increased a lot and its hard now a days to get block worked out. But with three miners (or more) you increase your probability of earning full bitcoin sooner enough as you are investing more power and brainy miners into mine field. So yes go ahead and set them up if you have lot of patience.  Smiley

you should be able to mine regardless of the hardfork
besides it is nothing more than hot air at the moment, the number of pool SIGNALLING support for BU is not enough
the sooner you buy the equipment the faster you ROI
I don't think the PoW structure would change hardfork or not,so s9 are going to be relevant for quite some time

Depends on your electricity cost you will own Bitcoins on both chains if it does fork so its fine
Your only concerned if a Fork involves a change in the scripting algorithms example a non Sha-256.
