Heya guys:

Ive searched up and down and cant find a solution.

I literally just started the installation of BitCoin Core and what do I get, I get the directory that states, where would you like to put this, so
I choose an external drive (as my primary drive doesnt have enough space) then I click continue. Then the app returns:

Cannot obtain a lock on data directory /Volumes/Bla/tdb103670762/1/General/BitCoin/Block_Chain. Bitcoin Core is probably already running. Operation not supported.

Im using Mac OSX 10.11.6 and the latest version of BitCoin Core...any suggestions whats happening and a way I can fix it?

Thanks again!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Check your permissions. Make sure that your user has write permissions to wherever you want to have the Bitcoin datadir.

Either you have wrong permissions for the Bitcoin core or Bitcoin core is already running in the background, when it is running in the background it locks all directories where blocks are stored.
