Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

As stated Localbitcoins is the best way to make a regular transaction on bitcoin for cash and vice versa based on different methods. One can make a perfect funding without any bank account. This is possible with the traders who consider giftcard for bitcoin. In a same way one can choose the right  service  required.

There are some ways to make it totally anonymous, as well as without a bank. For example, here's a list of exchanges where you can remain totally anonymous: https://icoinblog.com/best-anonymous-bitcoin-wallet/, given that you wish to not use a bank account and thus remaining anonymous.

If you don't care about the anonymity, and is just interested in buying Bitcoin without a bank account, check https://www.bitcongress.org/bitcoin/exchanges/buy-bitcoin-without-bank-account/ - you have around 6 different options there. P2P exchanges/marketplaces such as Paxful and LocalBitcoins are always recommended for unique ways of buying Bitcoin, good luck! Grin

Yes, one way is asking someone who has already money on their wallet and send it you then you just pay them on the cash basis, and some outlet can help you convert your fiat to digital money.

I am new to bitcoin.  Never did this before, but it seems all wallet services want your bank information at some point.  Are there any wallets that don't require it?  Don't have a bank account right now.

Supposedly localbitcoins allows you to meet up in person for a Bitcoin exchange. I think you have to register with localbitcoins but probably don’t have to provide bank account information.

I know you that Coinbase does require bank account and other identifying information. I have used Coinbase and it’s pretty easy to set up but it does take a few days to get it all sorted out.
