It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Bitcoin price at around 1k$ has ben static for the past few days is there something, maybe an event  in the near future that can affect that price in either a positive or negative way?

There's lots of potential news that could move the price up or down like the hard fork issue or the other ETF decision. I think we are in a short period where there is nothing pushing the price either way.

I think everything depends the hardfork now. Maybe some expectatives about BU make the market have some uncertain about what to do.

Anyway, I believe the Bitcoin as we know now will rise again and any attempt of hardfork will fail... But we must keep watching, it's an uncertain climate.

Very likely with the static price of it hovering between (playing if you will Embarrassed ) $1024-1050 in the last week.
Something is about to happen. It always does. Roll Eyes
Expect the upcoming hard fork to make it's mark in a big way.

i think you need to look at a chart instead of checking the price once or twice per day. you'll see that price is not "static" and it never was.
example: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitfinex/btcusd you can change the time interval to see the volatility in different intervals.

with that said, this much change is not that big so in a sense maybe you can call it "static". and it is positive for accumulation period when you buy coins at a low price before the next rally starts.

Look what happened about the hard fork and ETF rejection, it really affects the price to go down but for me it doesn't really because I keep on believing in bitcoin that it would surpass the issuse. It just roll back a little bit and will rise again soon. BTC is a survivor.

To be in forum, you might know the bitcoin price is always volatile, Therefore value is always bump and dump. In recent days we are seeing continuous fluctuatations. However, price will retain back 1100$ again.

I know the price very well and also that it can go up and down heavy, I have preev open non-stop. :p but I don't have that much time anymore to follow the happenings behind that story, so I'm asking for someone to get me up to date in a a few sentences. Tho the price is steadily going down, dollar by dollar, I was interested what's keeping it that way.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

The price has not been static at all in the past few days. It has wildly swung between 1000 and 1200 multiple times.

Bitcoin is testing the waters both ways, but I don't feel the upward trend has been broken yet. A big move is still to come.

As we speak, there is no such an event that will push the price towards new highs. Do I want it to happen? Sure. Do I think it's realistic with a potential fork ahead of us? No.

From this point Bitcoin needs to scale in order to move up as we are touching sensitive spots here. People can deny it all day long, but there is no way we can move up much higher without a proper solution.

It depends, there are many reasons why bitcoin price fluctuated, rises up and crashes down, hard fork really affects it but there are still more.
Lets just watch our value every now and then. But we hope for great price hike.

The price is going down now. I think people are buy the altcoins to hedge the risk of the hard fork of bitcoin.

Bitcoin price is really going down. Alt coins going up. But not selling now. I still believe that the price can recover soon. Maybe a lot has been in panic mode and dumping their bitcoin now and getting into alt coins. I can only speculate here. This has been the trend in the last week of bitcoin market price. I hope it can bounce back tomorrow.

I would agree with this. The price has fallen down but nothing dramatic and I beleive this will not continue. Temporary dump and correction and the price will recover soon. I.don't think there is a need to sell or panic among users despite the fork announcements and bad predictions.

I also don't expect anything like a recovery until things have either greatly calmed down, or even solved. I however think the chances of the latter mentioned won't be happening any time soon. Good thing is that the demand will push the price back to +$1000 within 24-48 hours. From there the whole cycle of falling below $1000 and moving over $1000 will repeat itself.
