Here is a rough sketch of a Phoenix coin:

I have chosen a few of my best so would like to know your opinions before I put some serious time into it.

Thanks.

Not funded = no private keys basically.

Definitely a nice design.
A number of points to consider though.
If you're going for funded coins, then lower denominations may be more popular.
Having been said, given recent events, it may be more advisable to go with DIY coins unless you're prepared to somehow provide full transparency of your operations.

What he said.  Just my own opinion a loaded 1btc coin right now might be a hard sell even with a full description of your operation which is also a tough sell now too.  Good luck either way

Can somebody here please tell me how to determine whether a coin is loaded or not? Is there going to be an engraved address or QR in the coin?

It will have the first 8 digits of the address on so you can verify it that way.

Sure well these will be 5 troy OZ. There will be some smaller ones 0.1 BTC. Do you  think that is high still?

0.1BTC is a good denomination in my mind. Not too much and not too little.
Alternative you could leave the coin without any denomination and let users choose to fund it with as much as they please although having a uniform denomination would be nice.

I'd strongly advise you to make them unloaded, you can still engrave the firstbits or whatever and give them a denomination.

Reason for this is that a lot of members of the community have seen the harsh reality of loaded coins recently. We are now down to a handful of manufacturers that can be trusted (and who knows, more scandals might occur.)

So that would be my recommendation, I think you'd find it easier to deal with everything going that route too.

Is there a block explorer that still checks for the first bits?

Thanks for your opinion. I will offer unfunded like I say but they will not have a private key in. Are the bad collectors mainly scammers or they were hacked? I dont really see how it can happen unless they scammed people.

If there isnt going to be a key i would say dont put a holo over it.  DIY coins allow for a buyer to make his/her own keys if they so please to.  As far as the coins, its a myriad of things.  Expecting someone to place trust in your pricess/team with a full btc right now is sketchy at best.  Nothing to do with you personally, just the current scene unfortunatelly

I tend to agree with the general mood here, unfunded may sell more, not sure if you have done previous coin releases either so that will influence people's opinion too.

And also 1 BTC right now is a lot of dosh, add 5Oz of silver? Are they going to be made of Silver or another metal?

They will be Silver. Nothing to stop me selling 1 mBit. ITs still better they are funded or you might as well buy normal silver rounds if they were not.

What are your preferred  amounts for a 5 TROY OZ: 0.01, 0.01, 0.1, 1 I am now thinking 0.1

Also what about 1 TROY OZ : 0.0001, 0.001, 0.01 I think 0.01

One thing I will not do is sell a unfunded coin with a private key in and I dont like the idea of DIY too because someone could use your coin to scam someone else. So if not funded they will come with words SAMPLE on like I have done before.

What do my little kitty eyes see, OP shilling his own coins? Roll Eyes Does he/she/it really think we can be fooled so easily?

Well, I got some bad news for him/her/it. I expect these coins to be overpriced, hence the fake *desire/demand* shilling. This is utterly disgusting and pathetic, just like CryptoImperator and Denarium.
