If you don't mind buying junk coins, this is a good opportunity to buy them for the French election. However, you should treat it as gambling as the price can drop to 1 satoshi after the election. The coin with the loser name will be worthless as shown by Clinton coin.
What is the use of buying junk coins knowing that you will be a bag holder in the end.I have seen coins named after political leaders will be concentrating on the election but i am not sure why people invest in those things because these are script coins where you can have n number of coins with different names .
Because it's easy money. We all know they're going to go up in anticipation and there might be a big pump on the day of the 2nd round, maybe even another one at inauguration.
But the beauty about these pumps is that after the pump and dump the value of said coins is often still above BEFORE the pump. Look at Trumpcoin now, it's still trading above 5000 satoshi, even though It's been below 1000 satoshi and around 2000 satoshi for a very long time. It went all the way to over 50000 satoshi and now it's still trading over 5000. Even BLRY, the loser, is still higher than before the election.
Now of course, this is France, not as important as the USA, so we won't see the same % and same value, but it's comparable in a way. If Macron pumps to 200 satoshi (I know this is far from the marketcap Trump ever had, but yeah this is France), then it might dump to 40 satoshi and get some little afterpumps too, which is still more than this, creating value for all the holders. And you don't have to be a bag holder, you can just sell on May 7th when all the new FOMOers join in.
A big difference however is that Trump's win was unexpected, while Macron is pretty much certain to win (far more certain than Hillary was in the polls), which doesn't allow for a nice race between MCRN and LEPEN unless the polls get closer in these two weeks.
And look at Putincoin, this coin didn't even have an election. Sure Putin is more popular than Mr unknown Macron. But if Macron takes office he'll get more and more known over time, so it's not like the coin would die. Even Le pen, she might not become president, but she revived a political movement and will stay influential in French politics.
