Last week I received 12,500 free mercury tokens in my Waves wallet. The message said something about them being distributed by darcr.us, which is the site of DARCRUS (DAR).

Looking into it it seems they are going to airdrop a lot more on holders of DAR: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1722137.msg18268308#msg18268308
The DAR token seems to be connected to Sigwo Technologies that released the Mercury token for a project called Jupiter.

Looks like an interesting option, what do you think?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Anybody knows if this crypto will be added to Bittrex ? The lack of liquidity on Crytopia is really annoying.

Also, What about the wallet ? Only paper NXT Huh

If they were free, hold onto them for a "long time". Someone pointed out that if people had held onto some free NEM that was given out it would be worth $120k now. Lots of people kicking themselves about that including myself.
