I have a playstation 2 console here, it's been with me for a long time, and I've just remembered that it's possible to access the internet using that thing. So I thought... What if there's an operational system for the Playstation 2?
Did a little research and found these:

Official Playstation 2 Linux Kit Installation and Demo

How to boot PS2 Linux (without a sony ps2 kit) + connect to internet

So here's my question, knowing that it's possible to install Linux on a ps2 HD or Flash Unit (I recommend a flash Unit), and use it almost like a desktop, what if we run a bitcoin software like bittaddress.org inside this thing (Disconnected from the web), I mean, first we install the OS on a flash unit, configure the printer part, then we plug the Flash Unit on PC, copy all files to a safe folder, compile everything and keep it there as a safe copy, now we get back to the ps2, re-plug the flash unit, run the OS, run the bitcoin software, generate the keys, print everything, then we format the whole flash unit, so later when we try to do the same stuff, we could just unzip the compilation inside the flash unit.

Please anybody tell me that this is possible and safe.

I need some use for my Playstation 2. >Smiley

The same could be done with other Playstation versions later the 2.

I had that kit once upon a time. PS2 has 32MB RAM..

I have faith that one day this forum will get threads where people won't just repeat their previous posts or what others have already stated in the same thread. Also that people will stop acting like BTC is toy-money and start holding vendors accountable. Naive? Maybe.

Does it have to be PS2Linux or would a OS like Tails run on the PS2? I currently boot Tails from a memory stick or a DVD to a old second hand

computer and it has a Bitcoin wallet built into the OS. I guess the aim of your experiment is to use the old PS2 to generate paper wallets, but why

not use it for more things? Tails has loads of other Apps and you can generate paper wallets if you really want. { via Browser }  Roll Eyes

Tails or The Amnesic Incognito Live System is a security-focused Debian-based Linux distribution aimed at preserving privacy and anonymity. All

its outgoing connections are forced to go through Tor, and non-anonymous connections are blocked.

Installing tails on a USB flash drive:

1.Insert USB flash device (8gb or larger).
2.Launch the Tails Installer (Applications/Tails/Tails Installer)
3.Select “Clone and Install”.
4.Select your USB flash device in the dropdown menu.
5.Press “install Tails”.
6.Restart Tails.

I was wondering, if it could run through PS2?
