I know I'm Necro'ing this, but I was recently thinking that I should try to get Just-eat Canada to accept Bitcoins.

Have any of you met with success?

this is old topic. just want to add:

no one that does not have bitcoin has any incentive to buy bitcoins to pay with bitcoin. just because 1 place accepts bitcoin means nothing really.

A bank needs to adopt BTC, I think that would make a difference.

That's wrong. They will want to buy bitcoins because it retains its purchasing power due its limited issuance ... so that when they come to buy something they really want, like food, they can afford the same amount (or more) food than when they got the bitcoins.

But if you can't think more than 2 steps ahead in regards to financial decisions then since you aren't going to be likely to have more than 2 btc to rub together .... well, it does meanz nothing really.

This is the essence of the world at the moment; most people living in the world today are used to their money being worth less over time, and used to spending what they have now instead of later, and used to being in debt because of it.  It'll take time before most people see the world differently, but I think it'll happen the more Bitcoin gains traction.

fast food is not food, it is an abomination and should not be supported but instead be shunned into oblivion.
Roll Eyes Fast food is part of a balanced diet.  Keyword, "balance".  Nothing wrong with a bit of fast food from time to time.

The current Mt. Gox exchange rate is used with no additional fees.

Finally a way to get your money out of Gox!  That might be a lot of hamburgers though....

I hope they will appear in Latvia also.

months ago after getting a few of the community to join together to atleast let just eat know there is some interest. by asking their customer serive department of just eat to take bitcoin and to pass on the request to their management.

also i asked (then known as) walletbit.com, now bips.me to professionally approach justeat as bips.me has offices in canada and europe.
since then i left it in their hands and tried requesting an update, to which they have not replied.

last communication i had with bips.me was they were 'trying to set up a meeting with one of justeats HQ's'

i still think food is the way forward, especially food services that are linked to many food retailers, that way one hit = many successes. just like what happened with foodler. over 12k successes in one day

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at
