The Bitcoin “Digital Gold Rush” Public Awareness Campaign has launched.

On March 21, 2017 the public BITCOIN IS COMING Campaign began.  

Our first billboard, newspaper ads, yard signs, car magnets, bumper stickers, postcards, business cards, and social media posts are all out the door.

Dahlonega GA, home of the 1st U.S. Gold Rush, was symbolically chosen as the town to launch our “Digital Gold Rush” public awareness campaign.  It’s a small tourist and college town just north of internationally known Atlanta GA, home to CNN & Bitpay among other things.  We are saturating the town with “Bitcoin Is Coming” using every possible method.

This initial launch was privately funded, and serves as “Proof of Work / Proof of Concept” for a much larger public expansion campaign.  We are seeking campaign donations and sponsors in order to expand the campaign.  Expansion options (including professional web design) depend upon the amount of funding support we receive.

Note 1:  This campaign takes no stance on the civil war going on between Core/BU other than to say that there is plenty of blame to go around, and it is our continual hope that a mutually rewarding path to a peaceful scaling solution will be found.  The Campaign’s official position is that time will work this out, and Bitcoin will continue to grow.  Whether the work out is clean or messy is up to the people at the heart of the matter.  The Bitcoin Is Coming Campaign is exclusively focused on promoting public awareness of Bitcoin.  In the midst of insanity, it is something sane to occupy our time.

Note 2:  Many thousands of dollars were privately spent to initially launch this.  It came down to actually paying for billboards, signs, newspapers ads, etc... or spending it ALL on webdesign.  We chose the actual advertising.  One of the team (not a web designer) hacked together our website on old frontpage software.  We KNOW it needs work.  It's on the to do list.  We're just getting started.  If you want a better website, provide funding support.

Anyway this is very interesting, I hope you can get the necessary funding for everything. I'm pretty sure this is a first for Bitcoin.
Bravo for doing something of this nature, which doesn't probably doesn't bring income.

What sort of gold rush doesn't have all the regular folk panning for gold?

I'm having a problem accessing the website (The connection has timed out). I checked your twitter though, I have to say that the idea is very cool and If you want to receive donations from users to spread the word then you should probably give more details such as the locations of those billboards, name of newspapers (and the country) etc... In addition to the team behind this project.

Website has been undergoing some sporadic attacks according to our Host Provider.  Every time we try we get through fine, but at other times we are getting hit with emails and messages that the site is down.  We're on a shoestring budget.  Spent everything initially on the advertising and should have put more into website.  We're just starting.  We are just a small private group of Bitcoin Holders that decided that we'd start marketing Bitcoin Awareness in our little region in the North Georgia Mountains (north of Atlanta, GA).  It's going very well, so we figured we'd play with growing this and trying to launch it on a more national level, get some media attention etc.  Right now we are getting quite a bit of buzz in the region.  No donations so far from bitcoin community except for a couple of small ones.  No biggie.  We have a lot of bitcoin.  We can afford to burn some on advertising Bitcoin to our regional community.  No fun getting rich all by one's selves

Where is the "Gold Rush" message?

All I see is some nebulous "bitcoin is coming".

Okay everybody's heard of Bitcoin and it is some weird thing. But afaics you aren't conveying a message to people of why they should even care.

First impressions are important. Branding isn't just about recall. It is also about what people associate when they recall.

What are you selling to the viewer? Gold (i.e. speculation because "the masses" don't care about sound money at all)?

Okay I guess with that QR code it is indicating that something digital is coming. But QR codes will become archaic. Shouldn't your imagery be more forward looking or something that will remain consistent.

I don't have any good ideas for suggestions, but maybe someone else will.

And really this is the problem Bitcoin has in general. You can't really advertise sound money. I'd try to emphasize the digital future somehow.

I apologize, because there is no polite way to say this, but I am honestly not trying to be rude when I say..... "You are Utterly And Totally Clueless!"

Let me explain..... Almost NOBODY has heard about Bitcoin.  Almost NOBODY has any idea what Bitcoin is.  Almost NOBODY even relates the name "Bitcoin" to the digital currency movement.  NOBODY!!!!

Seriously... the problem within the Bitcoin community is that you are isolated from the real world and live in a bubble.  You are like the Washington DC of the Cryptoworld - totally separated from the reality of what average people live in.  We actually did a random sampling of people in our region.  Out of over 100 people asked (just walking around asking strangers in the street or in stores or in chat) only ONE person was aware enough of Bitcoin to be able to intelligently discuss it.  THREE were aware of what it was at a basic level.  Approximately 30% were aware of the fact that there was this "wierd thing" going on out there regarding some sort of digital money, but almost all of them had to be prompted in order to associate Bitcoin with it.  70% had no idea what the hell we were talking about.

NOBODY owned or used bitcoin.  NOBODY.

Oh, and approximately 60% owned a small amount of Silver or Gold and were concerned about a financial melt down.

As far as branding, and pretty much all of your comments go..... NOBODY knows or cares about the fact Qwertys may go away.    But everyone (100%) so far (20 polled) that actually read the 2 intro sections [What Is Bitcoin](http://bitcoiniscoming.com/whatisbitcoin.htm) , and [Why Is It Coming](http://bitcoiniscoming.com/whyisitcoming.htm) immediately grasped the concept, and grasped the tie in to a Digital Gold Rush.

And really this is the problem Bitcoin has in general. You can't really advertise sound money. I'd try to emphasize the digital future somehow.

#1 - the real problem with Bitcoin is that the Bitcoin community lives in a bubble and doesn't understand that nobody in the real world knows or gives a sh!t about bitcoin - because nobody has told them.  

#2 - you obviously didn't read even the beginner sections of the website because if you read the two links above you'd see a pretty clear and simple message regarding "the digital future".  

Personally I do not care if you like or dislike the Campaign, because in our community it is working.  Our goal is very simple... adoption is coming.  At some point Bitcoin will be unobtainable to the common man.  Nobody is telling them.  Under the current plan, no one will know until it has already been controlled by banks and corporations.   If Bitcoin scales, do you know understand how fast Corporations will move in?  Do you not understand that Google and Apple and ohers will not immediately put some of that cash reserve into grabbing a chunk?

Our Campaign is twofold..... Educate OUR Community so that they move faster as adoption starts occuring.  Encourage others to educate their communities.
