The biggest improvement I can imagine is finding a way to return to decentralized mining.

Bitcoin needs to get past the drama. It's the stubborn people that aren't willing to let bitcoin evolve to accommodate a growing market (which we all want) that's making the prospect of a hard fork so damaging to Bitcoin Core.

Why are these two groups of developers hell bent on manipulating bitcoin this way?

Yes, Bitcoin has to scale to the levels where PayPal and Credit cards are to be a competitor as a alternative payment option. Satoshi did intend for it to be a alternative P2P cash payment system and not a store of value like some people seem to think.

Security should be our first priority and for that we need the best developers on this planet. ^smile^ I think that is why this debate around BTC Core vs BU is so fierce.

bitcoin only need to fix the block limit issue currently, that is the big problem here, the other is the centralization of mining, aside from this there is nothign really to improve much, minors thign maybe, like adding more features to the core(exchange directly there for example)

but we need consensus for this and any miners out there will never do it, would mean losing billions of invested dollars for them

I think telecommunication infrastructure upgrades to high speed fiber optic networks around the world might represent a good improvement.

A boost to average internet connection speed might give average node users a better chance to run blockchain software with larger block sizes which could make such an upgrade more feasible to core developers, in terms of maintaining decentralization.

If that never happens, I wonder if a paradigm shift to more nodes being operated in countries with higher average internet bandwidth like japan and south korea could make a difference.

If its possible for it to improve then its much better but for now i cant see anything should really be improved except on confirmation times and all things are perfect for me.There might be some features that is more advanced than bitcoin on other alts but still people would still stick to bitcoin and i do believe this is just a challenge for the bitcoin community.

Bitcoins at the present time are best for everyone, so when a change occurs, people feel frustrated. We need to take it to the original location, it should not change, it just needs to grow from the existing platform. BU is a greed of miners, we need to prevent and eliminate it, it is just an altcoin, and it is not allowed to abuse the power of bitcoin to grow. Hardfork required, and I think BU should be rejected. 1. Any average Joe get able to mine (even CPU mining? it doesn't have to be highly profitable)
2. Any average Joe get able to have a Bitcoin node (lower bandwidth needs?) Or maybe some small incentive for keeping node up and running.
3. A way for the transactions to happen at high speed with reasonable fees (compete VISA/Mastercard)
4. Maybe a better degree of anonymity - like Joe should be allowed to see my money flow only if I want to or in certain circumstances.

why would one lost all hopes in bitcoin? just because the price is going down so hard? this is just part of the manipulation of the whales. bitcoin has huge support so why worry, right.

anyway, i think that what bitcoin should be improving is the block size limit as well as the confirmation time without requiring the community to send a higher fees. with this, the community will be much happier for faster and smooth transaction..

The only improvement bitcoin needs is to resolve an issue of delay in confirmation time as sometimes it takes too long for transaction to get confirmed which is very frustrating and annoying too especially when you are in urgent need of money and apart from that everything is fine with bitcoins.

So what about the high fees and slow transactions? They don't need improvement? Or BTC cannot actually improve on that?

 What improvement are you talking about specifically? Altcoins are created because they are better that bitcoins, if Bitcoin can be improve that easily, there won't be a competition at all. Let's take this scenario: if there is another Cryptocurrency that competed Bitcoin and has better performance ( transactions, security, issues, ) then Bitcoin will just be improve better that the new Cryptocurrency and this process will continue. Sadly it is not as easy as we think it is.

As far as my own analyzation and tecnical views is concerned, I don't see great numbers of people losing hope in bitcoin. On what specific reason is it? About the current block size issue? It's a big deal but it's not a big reason for people to lose hope in bitcoin since it can improved.

Believed me, as long as the price is on high price to be considered, there are more and more traders who will play at the bitcoin market even there are some minor and major problems that needs to be modified and solved.

Its really annoying to keep on waiting for hours and hours for transactions to get confirmed and bitcoins should be definitely improved in this area even after adding higher fees sometimes it is taking longer for confirmation and people hate that situation.
