I don't think that the whole market will go down, as we all know if bitcoin goes down altcoin goes up. So many altcoin especially, those coins are really potential that are listed into the top 10 coins at coinmarketcap  will really goes up and for sure to all who hold altcoins and then their coins suddenly up well, good for them.

Well, the last time there was a big crash (2014), some investors got out of alts as well, they just got scared - that's because MtGox collapsed, people lost money, and Silk Road got closed down as well.

So - it really depends on WHY bitcoin falls to $700. If it is because another exchange crashes and burns like MtGox, it will take down the alt space with it.

But if bitcoin declines because it is being overtaken by ETH or some other coin, alts may well prosper as people seek the next big thing.

Its really impossible for the whole market to go down I agree on what you have said about scenario when price of bitcoin tends to drop then alts would go up but in my own view this is just a normal cycle and we can't still able to know which one would pump or not on times bitcoin prices drops.possibilities might happen anytime on reaching out new ATH.

1. The price of altcoins could not be pegged with the bitcoin price.
2. I don't think so Because the pump of the altcoins could not be predictable. You must see the pump is always changed.
3. Just a reverse thing for the number 2.

4. I think this is having a high accuracy rather than another choice. looks like a lot of the coin were getting new ATH. Especially some of the new corners.

yes it is true because those scenario has been happened several times even untill today when bitcoin price was dropped but ETH has rise up indeed not majority altcoins rise up but in my point of view when bitcoin back again to $700 there will be the particular altcoins who had potential growing up even maybe will be huge pump
