I kind of happy to see the news, i am one of the person that against bitcoin unlimited, because if bitcoin unlimited will cause the price to fall down and in the end it can become cheap coin, even with only the rumour there are already uproar in the market, if really being implemented we can lose a lot of users

We have the same reaction here. It is about time that we all make a good and united stand against BTU and go with Segwit as it is the road of least resistance and the lesser unknown. Plus not to mention that BU has so many self-vested business interests behind it. We should not allow so much of greed and selfishness overcome Bitcoin as so many can be affected. Will this finally mean that SegWit is it?

Well, I think they are really good how it is right now, though we must really fix these slow confirmations and high fees or else we will be heading to a fork. I do support Bitcoin Core, though Bitcoin Unlimited has it's points, though we don't need such fork, why not just join the cores and help them deal the problem about these confirmations and fees before it is too late, they are not helping the problem but they are making it really big.

Any contentious hard fork of the Bitcoin blockchain shall be considered an alternative cryptocurrency (altcoin), regardless of the relative hashing power on the forked chain.

They are prepared to throw away the huge powerhouse that secures Bitcoin and think they can sell their customers something as Bitcoin which is NOT secured by the worlds strongest computer network. They know what they want.

It's just fact that BU is an altcoin.  Their opposition to this and irrational support for Bitcoin based on longevity, though, is what's not clever.

The Bitcoin economy attracts hashing power, as well as the hashing power attracts the economy. It's symbiotic.

We'll see what happens, but don't over-sell BU's advantage (which is dwindling, miners are more and more pointing their hashing power at Segwit pools, and removing hashing power from BU pools)

It is not shocking and its not a something new. It is very surprising if they will accept bitcoin unlimited on their system but that is not going to happen. In my country the Philippines the exchange coins.ph have also declared that they will not accept bitcoin unlimited or BTU and they will only accept btc of the core. This signals a pending doom to btu or a new start for them as a new altcoin.

Canadian Nodes Unite? ROFL wat is that  Cheesy some kind of naruto-fantype clan or something?

Try to work witheachother instead of being "against" it.

I will never use a Currency that has a higher fee than another one that haz lower ok so wathver Corebois tryna do I will go with what is cheap. Core will have higher fee's, it is not appealing for a Market investing perspective, might be so short term but in the long run, nej.

This doesn't mean anything, it's just a statement from some groups and cannot represent everyone in Canada no matter how much I agree with the statement, just as the statement from exchanges about BTU being listed as an altcoin was not accepted by all exchanges (including Coinbase).

To my point of view with this statement economic nodes made clear that there are not only miners, pool operators and developers in bitcoin ecosystem but end users too which nobody asked them if they are willing to accept a hardfork. Additionally it mentions that they will not accept the gradual growing centralization of bitcoin 'in the hands of Bitcoin miners and pool operators'. Personally speaking this is the real cause of this statement and rest of it are the measures in case of blockchain's split.

I am very happy to read this, I also like them, myself I do not like BU, it is just an alt of greed, it deserves to be eliminated. When a country announces their opposition, this means that they are so disgusted with it, so BU will soon be crippled by the world. Canada as a cradle of bitcoin, where there is a bitcoin city where anyone uses bitcoin on daily deals. They notice bad things from BU, so they object to it. I support them.

Yes, the whole network is not solely exclusive to miners, pool ops and devs since end-users also make a bunch of the economy. Even though we disagree to the potential hardfork that could go either way, sadly for end-users what we can do is adapt since the consensus process is handled by the miners and pools for the hashing power that they point to the block that they choose.

canadian statement .. pfft

sign declaration = against decentralisation of a diverse network
abstain or fail to sign = automatically converted to be declared against decentralisation of a diverse network
(AKA fudging numbers)

out of just 25 people
16 voted. (15 economic nodes)

i wonder how many more they did actually survey, but then tweaked down to 25 names to then get over 50%(15)

and lastly.. the real funny part

by core going soft.. core is not following the canadians guidelines..
thus either the exchanges should hold themselves to their guidelines and reject core too.. or reject the guidelines making the pledge void

truly funny

i would laugh and mention about other hypocrisies but all rebuttles to my post will be just the same sleeping script readers that love the core cabin fever of centralisation and a TIER network.

but here is a hint.
if a implementation that did get true node consensus and then pool consensus. having things like
Strong 2-way replay protection
Wipe-out protection,

would then be twisted into "they are attacking by having such things in their code"

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
